(3.020 Rating) A fun loving pines course with some notable elevation change.
- BASICS AND EXTRAS - The Pine layout is tricked out with solid amenities. The first tee I stood on measured 6 feet by 12 feet. The remainder are either this size or only a touch shorter, I only felt crowded on the tee once. The course also has DISCatcher baskets and they were all in good shape. Lots of extras as well. Practice basket near tee (1), benches on just about every tee, several multiple basket placements and a near blank community board. I do wish that there were more multiple tee options as hole (1) was the only such occurrence. I also wish that the restrooms weren't locked for the winter.
- SIGNAGE AND NAVIGATION - Good, but not flawless. No course map at the community board, so I had to pull up the app to find (1). After this the tee signs start to note the direction to travel after finishing a hole. Tee signs also show a nice artistic description of the fairway with obstacles and seemingly have accurate distances. After finishing several holes, I noticed numerous directional arrows nailed to trees too. There are however a couple odd transitions and a few double backs to get to the next tee.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - This is a moderately wooded to heavily wooded layout, and imo, this style will almost always look better than the typical openish layout. I spotted lots of big 100 foot plus tall pines. There's some nice elevation change on a few holes. There's also a small creek running along hole (5). Detractors include walking paths, a tennis ball court fence and a few buildings in sight. Overall I scored this category 60 percentile.
- FUN FACTOR - I ran into several groups while out on the course and all of them were friendly. This just seems like the perfect social atmosphere course. Pleasing short moderately technical lines with places to relax at the tees. The odds of losing a disc is low and there's very little dense overgrowth to throw into. There are also plenty of ace runs for skilled players and the birdie potential is high.
- TWO 18 HOLE COURSES ON SITE - Enough said.

A solid course with one moderate complaint and some preferential stuff.
- WALKING PATHS IN PLAY - Right away on hole (1), I was presented with the opportunity to throw down the middle of a paved walking path. Not a good first impression. This similar hazard also occurs on holes (14, 15 and 18) where the pathway is also sort-of the fairway. In addition, walking paths are in fringe play a couple other times, there's a tennis ball court fence in play and a grip lock left could enter a playground area on (17).
- NO ADVANCED CHALLENGE - This shorter layout isn't going to challenge higher skilled players. I had only 3 discs with me, and I still finished well under par. Players with 300-foot arms will be throwing mids or even putters off the tee often. It is what it is. Although I didn't play it, the locals told me that the other course on-site is more challenging.
- MISC THINGS - There are two lines I didn't like from standing on the tee. First (11), which has an awkward tee set-up with the line to the basket requiring some sort of super tight sky anhyzer that s'es back to left at the end. Hole (16) is a classic poke and hope shot. The best fairway chance on this hole is a 5-foot wide gap 100 feet down fairway. Obviously, I birdied both of them… so what do I know. Other misc. things include, poor drainage after rain, suspect hole spacing and an active park setting.

This course is going to be a ton of fun for Recreational players. A modest challenge with pretty lines in a somewhat quick and mostly cart friendly layout. Intermediate level locals and beyond won't really be challenged, but if going for the social aspect, they are going to end up playing here quite often as well. The course reminded me a bit of a recent stop in Columbia SC called Earlewood. Players that happen to be in Fayetteville for work like me, should definitely consider checking it out. I've played two courses in town as of this review, and this one is light years better than the dying Middle River Course.
- PLAY TIME - Average. It's short and compact, but it's going to be busy often and walkers could force pauses at the tee repeatedly. I spent 55 minutes on the course as a solo.
- VARIETY - I scored this aspect about average. I liked (9) and (12) a lot. (9) is a short wooded shot that's fifty feet down in grade. It's very similar to hole (4) on my backyard course called V-rock. (12) is one of the longer holes requiring righties to throw a wide arcing hyzer with 320-foot power to a guarded blind basket placement. Overall there is an abundance of short modest technical plays. There are no par 4s and the longest holes max out at 350 feet. There's a parallel creek in play on (5), and (6) is a forgettable fake island hole. Several holes have over 20 feet of grade change to them too.

Mazarick park - Glenville Pines is located just off of Business I-95 . Considered the West Park , it is the first entrance on the left . It is a multi use park with a good sized parking lot and a good bathroom between the parking lot and holes 1 & 18 . This is one of 2 18 hole courses in the park .
The Equipment - There is a putting basket close to the bathrooms and closer to hole # 18 . The tee pads are all cement and 5' X 8' . The tee signs are small but informative and give hole# , par , distance ( both if alternate pins ) and flight path . There are also next tee signs at many locations to help with navigation . The baskets are numbered yellow Discatchers . There are benches at all of the tees . Some white pvc pipe marks some of the OB here .
The Landscape - The course was mowed and trimmed well when I was here , just damp in spots . The course starts off flat , but then slopes and eventually , has a few good hill or gully holes . A creek comes into play on a few of the holes . The course is less a park style course and more of a woods course . Many trees make for some tight fairways . The course can become soggy , so wear hiking or work boots or worn shoes.
Appearance/Atmosphere - This course is maybe average in appearance . Beyond the woods and in eyesight is an elementary school , or a tennis court , , or a bathroom , etc. The course can become muddy after a good rain . The trees do offer a lot of shade during the round .
Combining - The 2 course remain apart almost all of the time , but they run parallel , I think when Pines #12 meets Lake #16 when you are throwing uphill . You can jump into the Lake course here and finish your Pines round after completing the Lake loop .
The Highlights - #5 is a slow bending left to right 340' to a risk reward putt at a basket that is right in front of the creek .
#6 is a down-sloping island hole 270' . #7 is a left upward sloping drive , 315' that plays more like 350'+ . The basket is flanked by a set of trees . #17 is a 320' drive through a tight set of fairway trees to a basket with little to no green space . #18 ( 350' ) is an okay finishing hole . There is brush guarding the right side of the fairway , so you will have to bend your drive through some fairway trees to the basket that sits up on a small hill .
Signature Hole - #12 , 330' , a slight right to left drive to a basket whose green is surrounded by a group of trees .
The navigation was great on this course . I'm not sure if I ever looked at the map I printed .
The Time - Because of the easy navigation , it took me just a little over an hour for my round . A group of 4 will finish this in 2 hours .
Disc Risk - medium to low . The creek is shallow , the course is clean except for a few high growth sports ( like behind the basket at #6 ) . Using some of your light color discs will almost ensure you don't lose one .

#1 Safety - there is a walking path that cuts around and through the course . Add that to children that stray slightly off the playground at #17 ( I think ) and some park users cutting into and out of blind spot holes and you have Disc Golf - A La Bonk . Seriously , look down the paths and relent if you need to .
#2 Soggy - Spots on this course will hold a lot of mud/water , as evidenced by the board on some fairways and paths . Playing here after a good rain might not be a good idea . 15-18 was muddy when I played .
#3 Challenge - Intermediates and up might not consider this course very challenging . I can't speak for them , as I hit plenty of trees and shot a one over ,It was plenty challenging , and I'm mediocre . The course is fun , so you have to make a choice . The course could use a couple of par 4s , but I understand it there isn't a lot of room because of the 2nd course .
#4 Confusion - Looking up into the sun on #12 , I threw into a Lake hole fairway and completed my hole on another course . A sign on one of the trees should fix this .

The Glenville Pines course offers a lot of varying shots and distributes right and left holes close to equally . Good equipment , creative basket placements , some alternate tees , nice benches . I could easily see a small tournament being played here . I graded this course out at 3.2 and wondered if I should round up because of the 2nd course that you can combine it with . No WOW course here , but it isn't course designer Glenn Warfel's fault . He did a great job into making this more enjoyable than over challenging . The Fun Factor is here , and you don't even have to go looking for it .
Advice - If you are going to play both courses separately , I would advise to go out of the park , take a left and drive a little over a quarter of a mile past the elementary school and park near the top of the lot . You will pass the first tee as you go into the lot , and the course will finish to your left .
My Recommendation - The course is not too long and fun for newbies and the locals . Even a family member or 2 can jump into a round here . Intermediates and up can ring up some birdies while working on their short game . Not far off of I-95 this could be a fun stop for a traveler cutting through the Fayetteville area , and the Course Collector can pick up a 2fer in about 3 hours or less .

Great, large concrete tees, like-new bright Discatchers, excellent tee signs.
Multiple basket positions on several holes, each listed on the tee signs.
Really good mix of right and left shaped holes, an island green and a sprinkling of uphill, downhill and sidehill holes.
Benches on several holes with good restrooms at the start. Large parking lot for other facilities at start, tennis, ballfield, playground.
Not a lot of chance to lose a disc here, the roughs are manageable and the creeks are pretty small.

3 holes have a paved walking path the majority of the fairway, so much so that the path is marked as OB. Each one has a blind corner leading into the fairway, pretty serious safety issue. One other fairway crosses the path and another has a Mando to avoid the path.
#8 even crosses the drive into the park, but since it is right in front of the tee, should be managed pretty well.
#17 was pretty close to the playground, maybe a little too close.
I played this course on a Friday afternoon in February (my Birthday!) and had to wait on other park users a couple of times on these holes. It looks like it would be a serious issue on a weekend or early evening during warmer months. Did not see any "Beware of Flying Discs" signs either.

I really liked this course, definitely better than the older, Lake course next door. The signage, the tees, the baskets, all top notch.
There are several holes I really liked - #5 - right turning hole with the basket backed up to a creek. #6 - nice short, downhill throw to the island green, #7 - flat tee shot to an uphill approach to the basket, #9 - very fun, steep downhill to a basket near another creek, #12 - sidehill hole turning left with the basket on a steep green.
Both courses do come together on the back 9s, so be careful you stay on the correct course. The starts are about a third of a mile apart, so best to drive to each. Or you can hop from one course over to the other and play all 36 at once, for a Figure 8, just like at Cedarock.
I really wanted to rate this course higher, 3.5, maybe even 4.0, but just couldn't with the potential safety issues.

This course is decently marked, and has a variety of shots. Pretty short course, but it will still challenge a decent player. There are restrooms in the park. Good baskets. Great use of elevation. A couple good little ace runs.

Plays around a playground and a hiking/jogging track so sometimes you have to wait for pedestrians to pass before being able to throw.

Closest course to Fort Bragg besides the Maz Lakes course so I play it most often.

I really enjoy the layout from a throwing sense. It is not too demanding and can be forgiving to beginers as well as challenging for verterans.

There are a variety of shots required and some very good terrain and elevation change on the course.

"next tee" signs are already in place and make it easy to navigate.

the Tee to #10 Is right next to Mazerick east #15 so you can play a 36 hole loop if you choose.

Ok since this one is brand new obviously some of these can be fixed in time. Others are going to linger imo

Currently No benches, trashcans or teesigns(fixable with time)

The course is still very rough in places and needs beating down which will happen over time. The rough can be extremely tough at times.

They are currently using the olllllldddddddddd rusty disccatchers that were on the original 18 hole course that used to be on the east side. So the old short course is no longer there and the baskets look bad and dont catch well. Im assuming they will be replaced one day.

Some of the course is kinda swampy especially in the latter portion where a few holes go down a lane with manhole covers. Also has the smell that is prevelant on some of the east course on bad days

A few holes require a long throw around a blind corner of a walking trail which could be a safety issue in the future.

Also a few come kinda close to a playground and picnic shelter(they arn't extremly close but I saw someone almost throw into them.)

This course is a baby and will become better with time. It is really nice to have 36 holes at one park.

Much like mazerick east I really enjoy the course as far as the throwing aspect of the design goes and I have fun playing the course and throwing the shots. However I feel that due to the soggy fairways and nastyness and the dangers to the other park users that I could not give this course higher than a 3 in the long run.

Mazerick is definatly the best in Fayetnam but they are not destination courses
