Pros:

-Dual Tees
-Good Signage
-Secluded Play
-Seems well maintained
-Elevation available was used

This 12 hole course goes wind through the backside of the School parking lot and behind the track. It rolls through some smaller hills and go up the large hill. It makes for a slightly challenging uphill shot and an awesome bomb off the top of a hill (from the long tees). The courses in well maintain by the school. The lawn was recently mowed and it the end of July. So they don't just neglect it while school is out of session.

The short tees are good for the middle school kids and people just starting out to play. It gives you are decent sense of what disc golf is all about without the punishment of lots of obstacles (although they do come into play). The long tees make up much more of a challenge. There is a 430 foot downhill shot and a 600 foot plus dogleg hole. With the small rolling hills and the open grass, it gives you a chance to try out different shots. It also does border some rough prairie land, so you do have to also play smart so you don't have to search for your disc for a long time.

I also like that the land is primarily used for disc golf. I saw a couple hiking on it and that was it. The soccer fields and such were there own separate area. Tees signs and navigation was easy to follow. I was the only one on the course and cannot imagine it gets very busy.

Cons:

-Wood markers for tees lines
-No amenities

I personally do not like the wood beams marking the end of the grass tee area. I see the purpose of them, however, with play and erosion, it becomes a tripping hazard. If you follow through you have the potential to be tripped up. They were pretty flat and better than most locations I have seen, but not a fan. I did not have any issues throwing but in time it could be tough.

There are no bathrooms, garbage cans, or benches on the course. Pack it in and pack it out. It is not a need be for me, but it's a negative. The other issue I had was hole 12. Long Tees were easy and the Short Tees was a jump putt at best. It seemed like filler for no reason. There are bushes behind the basket and a small hill that rolls down to the parking lot, but offer no challenge and left a bad taste in my mouth when finishing.

Other Thoughts:

All and all, it is a decent course. For a Middle School, it's a great course compared to what I have seen. Tweaking some of the holes and would offer more of a challenge, but they use the space that I assume they were given fairly well. It is not a destination course by any means. There are better options in the area to play, but this course offer some challenges and a good place to work on your game. And it's a great course for Middle School student to learn the game.

It's a good course for it's location (being at a Middle School). With the grant and some of the work they started on, helps make it a little better. Rating it to a disc golf standard, I would have to call it decent. It got some good stuff, but not over the top. A couple decent holes, but too many relatively easy hole to bump it to a 3. Still going give it 2.5 because of there aspect of the course that make it better than your average course just planted in a park or at a school. It seemed thought through and planned, to try to get the most out of it. They got a couple cool holes out of the deal.

Obviously, I wouldn't recommend it as a must see course, but if you live in the area or spend a lot of time over here, it's a decent play. Just if you are a decent player, make sure you stick to the longs.
