Real nice midrange course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 10, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great mix of angles, trees, open shots, distances. Love that the blue and white tees are completely different angles, not just longer distances. Seems to be well maintained in a huge park with lots to offer. Signage is excellent, no worries about a first timer finding the tees and baskets.

Cons:

Parking lot is rustic at best. Not nearly enough benches or proper tee pads. Needed a good mowing at the time I played. Needs a nearby bathroom (or outhouse) as well. No elevation changes.

a true NJ gem 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 19, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

the usage of the land provided is excellent. what used to be a unique 9-hole is now an extremely fun, well rounded 18. the blue layout is coming into form and plays as a solid par 3 course with a few par 4s. all skill levels have something to enjoy, and it was especially fun playing risk/reward on the blue par 4s. the course signage is great, with navigation and next tee signs in well placed sight lines. the balance between open and wooded holes was nice, and the wind added extra challenge toward the more open back 9.

Cons:

not many to say. some sections are still rough, so be careful traveling to some of the blue tees as needed.

Other Thoughts:

having a trash can near the final hole is a great reward for trash pickup.

Very beginner-friendly 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 2, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Well-signposted, good mix of long and short, meadow and woods, course in great shape

Cons:

Relatively flat and unvaried topography; nearby (busy-ish) park road

Other Thoughts:

As someone just starting out in the sport, I'd highly recommend coming here the "B" tees make it possible for those who haven't yet mastered drivers to focus on their mid-range and putting games. Par figures might be a bit flattering to beginners but it's a good psychological boost for us! :)
