Pros:
Just down the road from Faylor Lake, you'll find Midd-West DGC. Don't let the nice blue DiscGolfPark baskets fool you... this is a really bad disc golf course.
+ Starting off with the good, each hole has its own DGP basket, which may be my new favorites. Each basket has a navigational arrow welded into the cage.
+ When available, tees are marked on concrete areas. If concrete is not available, there are white turf tee boxes on a few holes.
Cons:
- From the very first hole all the way until 18, it's easy to see why this course is only open outside of school hours. Some holes play very close to buildings and windows. Many holes play over/along parking lots, roads, and walkways. I played during a weekend evening in July, and there were still multiple holes with cars parked in the "fairway", which is just a parking lot. It would be a stretch to put 9 holes here, let alone 18.
- Outside of vehicles, there aren't really any obstacles. While an isolated tree or two may come into play, most holes are wide open.
- Tees are marked, however there are no hole numbers or signs.
Other Thoughts:
Having courses on school property is great. However, with the current layout, I can't imagine this would even be playable when kids are actually there. There's just too many holes that play over/along the parking lot.
Play an extra round at Faylor Lake if you're in the area and skip this one. Wish I would have done that.
