Pros:

Minooka DGC at Summit Park is a great little course for beginners. And even better for course baggers like myself. It falls in line with the majority of the other Chicagoland courses I've played. Short but sweet. There are 7 holes that are mildly crammed into a small park. The park is clean and wouldn't seem to ever be too busy.

The baskets are Mach's of some type. Mach 3's I believe. All are in great shape and catch fine. Number plates on the top help with deciphering the basket you're aiming for in the more congested sections. No complaints with these.

The tee signs are well done. They have the course "logo", par, hole #, distance and a generic hole map. This is more than enough info on a short course like this. There's a nice course map right by hole 1 as well.

The design of this course is pretty solid. There's very limited space available in this tiny park, but it's used to the well. The course starts right by the parking lot and ends pretty close too.

The tee pads are natural but are perfectly suitable for the distances asked of you here. One tee per hole. The sidewalk/walking path can be used on a couple too.

Great place to take newer or younger players. There are a few trees on the property that can come into play but otherwise it's pretty open, flat terrain. Ace runs aplenty for more experienced players. Putters and mids are all most of us will need here.

The course is free to play, permanent and won't take more than about 20 minutes to play.

Cons:

Hole 4's tee sign was missing but the hole only about 180 feet. You'll figure it out. Plus the baskets have the hole # on top.

The course is VERY short. It won't appeal to big arms and is even pretty short for my noodle arm.

A few holes. Most actually, play over the walking paths. It's open enough that you shouldn't run into any safety issues though. Just be aware of your surroundings.

Other Thoughts:

Nice little course. And by little I mean Little. It's a teeny tiny park that managed to cram 7 holes in. And it works. Just don't expect to be blown away. But if you're in the area and have a half hour to kill I'd recommend it. There's a wealth of other bad, goood and great options nearby so this shouldn't be at the top of the priority list. But it's a good warm up course for some of the nearby heavy hitters or just a good chill round. Not bad, reasonable. It's a 2 for me.

Fun Ace Race course! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

I loved playing here. This was definitely my most fun round of the day when I played four new courses. The course has a really "new" feel to it. The signs are fantastic and the baskets are shiny. It's a ton of fun to just gun for aces as most of the holes are around 200 feet and only require a putter. Since there are no obstacles, it's definitely an ace run course. You can knock out a round (of 7 holes) in like 10 minutes.

The course is nicely maintained. The grass is mowed and there's a bathroom pavilion and water fountains directly in the middle of the small park.

Cons:

They can be summed up easily as...

*Zero challenge
*No cement tees
*Only seven holes

Other Thoughts:

Sometimes you just need to have your self-esteem boosted and this is the perfect course for it. Tons and tons of birdies and maybe even an ace!

I really think that this course is only rated as low as it is because the baskets were only recently installed. I can see how playing this course without baskets would have sucked...but it's something to keep in mind!
