Pros:
Great beginner course, beautiful location near 2 ponds and a small river. Nearby golf clubhouse has bathrooms. Minimal hazards, good quality baskets. First 8 are par 3, #9 is par 4*.
Cons:
Only 1 basket location. Fairway has lots of thorns and rodent holes. Be careful where you step! Concrete pads on some, dirt pads on others. Concrete pads are small and sometimes don't point exactly in the direction of the basket. Advanced players will be discouraged by the lack of shot variety - fairways are all open with only 1-3 trees per hole.
Other Thoughts:
#9's basket is in a silly location and the fairway is close to the nearby river and very thick woods on the river's banks.
*To prevent disc loss, we locals create our own par 4 back to the practice basket. It is much more forgiving, gives variety in par, and brings you back in place for a second round.
Don't be alarmed by the lack of trees, it's Iowa. I live down the road near the park entrance, stop by and we'll play a round!
