Nice but needs better signage and more obstacles 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 28, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

good baskets
few pedestrians
long holes
very windy

Cons:

few obstacles
bad signage
very windy

Other Thoughts:

I've played the course a few time over the last few years, I only ever play it if I happen to be in the area, I feel it's not worth a long commute. The biggest issues are absolute lack of elevation and only very few obstacles, most shots are wide open with only a few hedges, some mandos and a little bit OB. The course definitely benefits from being 18 holes now, it used to be only 15.

Hedges and trees are slowly growing, so obstacles get a little bit better over time but it will still take many years for them to become challenging.

The course tends to be very windy, so it's a good course to learn how to play in such conditions, you definitely should pack more stable than understable discs.

What's really a pity is the lack of good signage. It's impossible to play the course in its intended layout without a printed or downloaded map, I often find myself searchign for a teepad or wondering which of the baskets on the fairway is the one for this hole. The course would benefit immensly from a touchup in this regard.

I believe the grass is fairly regularly cut, although when I played last time (April 28th 2019), there were many areas of high grass which made tooking for discs quite tedious at times, despite the flat area.

Arena Neuss 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 10, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This course is located in the center of Neuss inside a racetrack for horses.
The location is pretty unique and it is not crowded at all.

Playing here can be challenging with some OB's, an island and some mandos.
Having a big arm will give you some advantage here.

The layout is pretty good with a nice flow and the baskets were in good condition as well as the fairways.
No tall grass when i played.
You can park right next to the track for free.

Cons:

Personally this course is to flat and to callow for me. The lack of elevation as well as big trees as obstacles was considerable.

Throwing far is the major challenge here. Many holes are open shots without
any or few obstacles.

There were no tees or teesigns but embedded stones with numbers. Navigating can be difficult here for the first time. You should bring the course map as i couldnt find one at the entrance or anywhere else.

Some areas were quite dirty (a local told me that birds are picking out of the trashcans).
The course can be closed during events (horse race).

Other Thoughts:

I was missing hills and trees, some tight fairways for more thrill. Nevertheless this course is worth to play when you are in that area.
The layout is pointet more towards advanced players.
You can train your accuracy in distance here.

Not ready yet 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 24, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice baskets and signs
Not many people
Located in the middle of a horse track

Cons:

Lots of spiky weeds
No tee pads
minor hills
Short holes
As like most of Europe, no specific parking.
Only 12 holes when I think they could fit 6 mores if allowed.
Sees like the course goes second to any event that takes place. I went and there were gates everywhere dividing hole and tees, and not a sole in sight.

Other Thoughts:

If this park is maintained and finished (ie. pond and grounds keeping) it could make for a good time.
