Uphill, Downhill 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 20, 2011 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Challenging narrow corridors. Great uphill and downhill shots. Quiet, out-of-the-way in the woods. Well-used, but not crowded.

Cons:

Several short holes were laid out where it was practically impossible to get a birdie. "Fairways" took sharp 90 deg turns on 2 or 3 baskets and the woods was to thick to go through or over.

Spent a lot of time looking for discs in the tall grass and thick bushes lining just about every hole. Because of this I would have not come back to this course except that it was the only course within a half hour drive of Rome, NY where I was assigned on business for a short week.

Challenging, but worth the drive. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 13, 2005 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Tough, wooded, with lots of elevation changes.

Cons:

Tough, wooded, with lots of elevation changes. Narrow fairways are pretty technical, so you must be in control of all your shots, or else you're definitely going to lose a disc or three. And there are lots of mosquitoes and biting flies, so BRING BUG SPRAY. You've been warned...

Other Thoughts:

This shouldn't be the first course you play after a long winter. The technical, tight fairways will be a challenge, so warm up on some easier, more wide open courses first. Plus, the elevation changes can make you winded.

Pros:

Good short course with nice elevation changes. Plenty of birdie opportunities. Lots of woods but was not too thick and usually had a shot out of it, and no trouble finding discs. Fun design.

Cons:

No maps or scorecards on the bulletin board when i was there, and some tee boxes are not labeled, not a big problem as the course is pretty well layed out but i played 18 twice by accident. keep going up the hill after hole 8. haha. hills slippery when wet.

Other Thoughts:

easy stop when traveling on 90, maybe a 5 min detour. stopped on my way from albany to buffalo. will probably do it again overall good experience. also a fairly good course to bring beginners too as it is not too long and gives them a few good par opportunities.

Pros:

18 hole disc golf course near Syracuse NY. Lots of hill shots which make short holes longer and a decent mixture of wooded and semi open.

Park is pretty secluded and pretty easy to follow as you go along. I enjoy this course more every time I visit
