A backhand roller on this hole avoids the blast of wind you usually get when the disc rises above the road level, eliminates vehicle/OB issues, there's plenty of room for it, and wimplings like myself can roll farther than we can throw anyway.

In tournaments, 1 is played with on or over the road as OB. You do need to keep an eye out for oncoming traffic anyway, as the most direct line for rhbh players is to aim to the right of the sign. It's possible to go a little wide right and get a very generous skip back in bounds to the left anyway. But get a good gauge on the wind first, and choose your disc stability appropriately. It's fine to be left (downhill), but watch closely if you go too far left: the rough is pretty thick over there, and the 2nd tee is in range.
