Pros:
Concrete Teepads
Good Baskets
Interesting Shots - Plenty of Risk/Reward
Some Elevation, which can be hard to find in on courses in the region.
Cons:
Difficult navigation for first-time players
The area across the creek where Hole 1's basket, Hole 2 and Hole 3's teepad are located is not always well-maintained.
Safety issues if the park is in use, 3's basket is near a playground, 4 plays near the bathroom, 5, 6, and 7 play along the walking path through the park.
Other Thoughts:
This course is one of the better courses in the San Angelo area and offers a variety of shots and lines to play.
Hole 1 is a slightly elevated shot across the creek to a basket located on the other side. For a RHBH player there is the option of playing a turnover shot, playing a right-to-left hyzer with a potential skip of the road, or if the wind or arm strength are a limitation laying up short of the creek.
Hole 2 is a short up hill shot a forehand hyzer or a dead straight shot are both good options. This is a potential ace run hole at right around 200 feet.
Hole 3 is a little bit of climb to get to from 2's basket. For a RHBH player it is a big hyzer to the right of the large pine tree, RHFH or lefties can play a hyzer to the left of the tree as well.
Hole 4 is either a flick fading back in from the road or backhanding up and around or under the large tree (which likes to keep discs)
Hole 5 is a straight shot along the path with some pretty treacherous OB, especially if you are playing the path OB along with the road.
Hole 6 is a risk/reward hole with a line out over the water, and a lot of potential to lose a disc.
Hole 7 allows for more risk reward, the fairway is tight with a path in the middle, road to the left, and water to the right. If you have a good hyzerflip in your arsenal this is the hole to break it out.
Hole 8 crosses the road and plays along the fenceline of the park and City Lumber. There appears to be a tight tunnel window at the corner of the fence, but the safer play for a RHBH player is simply a big hyzer over the fence.
Hole 9 is a straight ahead shot from close to the road to the fence at the edge of the park, keep the shot low to avoid sailing over the fence and putting a disc on the other side.
Overall, this is a fun course and due to the proximity with North Concho and Brentwood can make for a really fun, quick 3 course round.
