Excellent concrete pads, a variety of distances, not much walking in between holes. A couple of holes that require a good drive and a good upshot.

Very balanced between wooded and open holes.

Way too many straight shots. Doesn't exactly feel like the same shot over and over but the only difference in many holes is if they're short and straight or long and straight, or medium and straight? Did I mention how straight these holes are? Because they're straight. Why not have a turnover, or a hyzer shot? Ever hear of placing a tee or basket on the side of the hole?

Some of the woods holes are more luck than skill.

A little elevation change here and there but mostly flat.

A long walk from the parking lot to the course, and no water fountains in the park.

It's a decent course but nothing spectacular. No way is this a 4.00...way too many homer reviews for this one...it's the Pendleton King of Arkansas I guess. Compared to Old Post five miles away, it's an easy choice if you can play only one in Russellville and that would be Old Post, hands down. I would drive a hundred miles out of my way to play Old Post and wouldn't even bother to play this one if I did.

Navigation was not a problem at all on this course. Hole 1 is easy to find with a large course map. There are good tee signs, baskets, and concrete tee pads on every hole.

Nice looking course, with a good mix of open bombs and tight wooded shots that test your accuracy. The water gives the open holes a little added difficulty, but experienced players should not have too much problem avoiding the water.

The water is the obvious con for most players. It puts a premium on accuracy, but wayward shots can kiss that disc good bye. There are no facilities and the grass needed cutting the one time I have played the course. If you are playing the course for the first time, the black pond on hole 11 is hidden and easy to lose a disc in before you even realize that it is there.

This is a tough course for me to review. There were not a lot of cons or things I did not like about the course, but there also was not a lot about this course that "wowed" me. I enjoyed playing the course and played really well, shooting a 9 down.

There were just not enough trees or obstacles on the open holes to make them interesting and the water was not close enough to actually become an obstacle for an experienced player. The wooded holes were mostly straight putter or roc shots, with 2 of them offering a wide open left to right gap to sneak into the back door to the basket. Overall, I enjoyed my round there and would be willing to give this course another chance if I am ever in the area again.

Beautiful setting. Back 9 is mostly wide open and long and requires lots of power. Very well marked, all concrete tees.

Holes 1-2 are open and fairly long. The nature of the course shifts abruptly and 3-10 are wooded, fairly short, and tight. Some of these holes don't really offer any good shot options from the tee. Nuclear plant cooling tower looms ominously several miles away.

Drawbacks mentioned aside, this is a beautiful, well maintained course that is worth a road trip from Little Rock (1 hr 15 mins away) to play.
