Challenging course. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 10, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

1. Challenging course that will test you're shot selection, accuracy and power.

2. Variety of holes keep the course from feeling mundane.

3. Water hazards can be found on multiple tees causing increased difficulty.

4. Good tee signs. The signs tell the par for each hole, the location of the basket, and the path to the next tee.

5. Concrete tees.

Cons:

1. A good chance of losing a disc or two.

2. It may be cooler and windier due to the course being surrounded by a lake.

3. The tee signs don't list out-of-bounds. I landed in the rough on hole 16 and didn't know if I was out of bounds or if my shot was legal.

4. Too much water could be a bad thing.

5. It's not a beginner friendly course. There are too many obstacles (water and trees) to help a beginner to get into the "feel" of the game.

Other Thoughts:

1.Be prepared to lose a disc if you shank a throw on some tees (especially true on the latter part). I threw a buzz on hole 17 and it went into the water.

2. The course can be a buzz (no pun intended) kill if you are having a bad day. That is, if everything about you're game is off.

3. The course isn't too far off from places to eat. I went down to burger king after I got done. The distance from the course to a local restaurant is roughly five miles.

4. One thing that you'll be wishing is that the water was more shallow around the banks so that you could have a better chance at retrieving your disc. If, that is, you throw a bad shot that goes in the water.

6. Overall, I enjoyed myself on the course. I had to fight the wind, cold, and paranoia of losing a disc, but overall I had a good time.

Mixed bag of tricks, great course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 18, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

600' wide open holes combined with 120's full of trees.
Well marked course
Lots of water makes for a fun time

Cons:

Course crosses with walking trails, including some possible areas where a walker hit would be easy.
No services at course (water, bathrooms)
At a powerboat course, so expect outside noise
BEWARE: You may lose discs in the water here. Surrounded by water (old quarry). Advised by local shop that in places this is 45 feet deep. I'd not recommend fishing out discs unless you can see them in the water (which is unlikely).

Other Thoughts:

Dry county, but out of the way. In a college town but I don't know if any local stores carry DG stuff. Carry water/etc - this course is long (over 1 mile in total pin length) - be ready for a workout. Be prepared to lose a disc - you are surrounded by water.
