Pros:

Not much pedestrian traffic with only random walkers/joggers unless there is a 5K race scheduled. Good course for a beginner as most holes are >200' with a handful being marked 250-300' but seem shorter. 1 long hole (10) that will let you air out your distance driver. Baskets, Mach 3's, are new and most are in good shape. The biggest "PRO" is that Outdoor Rec knows there are issues and management is open to making changes and improvements including concrete tee pads, moving/expanding holes, etc. are on the radar for course improvements.

Cons:

SMALL course, several shots ~150' and hole placement can make it difficult to know exactly which of the 3 or 4 baskets you can see from some of the tee pads you are throwing at. Speaking of that, if there's more than a handful of people playing WATCH OUT for errant, or not so errant shots when you're putting out or teeing off for that matter on at least 14 basket/tees!! Keep your head on a swivel if you're not out there alone. You'll also need to be able to get on Eglin AFB or have a buddy that can sign you in if you want to play this course. Easy to get lost on the transition from hole 9 to 10. 10's tee area is almost directly across from 9's teeing area so you have to come back up and cross the road over to 10's tee. everything elses is somewhat easy to follow. Sinage is available on some holes but all are printed paper in standard sheet protectors taped to very thin plexiglass sheets. some are missing or totally gone including the broken plexiglass that can be found on the ground by several tee sign poles.

Other Thoughts:

Improvements have been promised and should be in the works. This could have been a GREAT 9 hole course but 18 holes were shoehorned into a tiny plot of land.

LASTLY ... if you are at the course, remember you're on a military facility. Don't sign the baskets for your "aces" sign your own discs! Also DON'T bring your medicinal items you don't have perscriptions for (legal in FLORIDA) as the base does frequently use this area for dog training/exercises.
