Frustrating, needs some redesign 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 17, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

Beautiful location, nice pads.

Cons:

On most holes, we simply could not imagine a line that gets you there. I don't mind difficult courses with tight lines, where I bogey because of my own lack of control! :)

But I get frustrated when there is just no line. Only way we par holes on 2nd run was with consecutive half-hearted midrange throws. It works but it's no fun.

Other Thoughts:

I think this course is rated too high in terms of playability. It's certainly pretty, but I would not travel to play it again as-is

It's got great potential, but it needs some redesign...

good course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 24, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice course overall, Good lines, good layouts, nice change between long and short tees. Good mix of shots needed, challenging but not stupid hard.

GREAT use of topography

Reasonably easy to navigate..

Cons:

Non concrete tee boxes. the day that I played some of the holes had rubber pads installed and from what I understand they are all going to have them. This seems to be a common element in the UP courses.

Some trash on the course, but not tons.

Course is still a little rough, not a whole ton of defined lines, but that gets broken in with course use.

Other Thoughts:

Overall a good course, I know that disc is just starting to get going in the U.P, and it seems like dedicated clubs are beginning to grow.

If this course had concrete pads, I would rank it a little higher.

Worth hitting if you are in the Marquette area.

With all due respect to some of the previous reviews, rating this course a "5" is just crazy. Like I said, it's a good course, i enjoyed it, but simply the fact that it doesn't have cement pads would disqualify it from being a top course.

Like I said, during my UP disc trip I saw disc golf as really starting to grow in the UP, and that's awesome. But the courses are just not the same par as most of them in the LP are to this point.

Again, this is a good course and worth playing, I'm not trying to take away from it, but to say this is a top course in the state is just not true.
