Pros:
This is a primarily wooded course that features short, technical holes with a lot of birdie opportunities.
The first four holes play over a gently sloping field of grass. While the holes are not particularly inspiring they are a fine way to get warmed up without worrying about hitting specific lines.
From the fifth hole on you are into the beautiful forested tract of land. The holes lengths are all between 160' and 300' until you reach the 17th and 18th holes which are the longest on the course at 350' and 370' respectively.
While short, there is a good variety of tunnels, right and left-bending holes, and a few sharper doglegs. You'll have to shape and hit your lines to score well here, but if you do so there are plenty of birdies to be collected. Being able to drive both BH and FH as well as scramble after tree hits is the name of the game on these wooded holes.
Course infrastructure is solid. Mach V baskets are in great shape, though they are challenging to spot in the shadowy woods. Orange flags on most of the baskets are a huge help.
Teepads are concrete in various sizes. It looks like they started with a standard, small trapazoid. On many of the longer holes they added a square extension on the back. Some holes have a rubber pad extension instead. All in all they work fine, but some are too short for a full run-up.
Each tee features a wooden box with trash and recycling containers and a printed, laminated tee sign with a good hole diagram and other expected info. Plenty of benches and chairs round it all out.
Cons:
This biggest ding I have on this course is the overall short length. For a 21 hole course to play at less than a mile (average hole length less than 250') means that you are driving with putters much of the time. That is fine, but it gets repetitive. The higher rated courses in the area are able to mix in a few 400 - 600 foot holes to break things up.
The lawn holes, while pretty are very generic. 250' - 350' over open, mowed grass is fine, but not really memorable.
Other Thoughts:
Nice looking clubhouse (closed when I played) along with good scorecard/map provided. They even have bug spray for those who forgot theirs. (Use it!!).
Nice clean porta-pottie in the parking area was appreciated.
