THIS TIP IS FOR HOLE 1W: The famous "Philo" hole is a fairly score-able par 5 by most standards. A good long hyzer off the tee opens the hole up. On the second shot, experienced players will be seeking to reach the rise toward the end of the fairway, allowing for an "s" curve RHBH shot that wraps around the right of the large trees and back left to the blind, guarded pin. Avoid going in to the large trees guarding the green, as it can take several shots to power through that grove. In general on this hole, focus on staying out of the shrubs for best results.
