Hectic 2+ years

Pros:

+ Riverbend DGT winds through the grassy open areas a busy park with most holes catering to beginner/intermediate players.

+ Nice tee signs and baskets. Every hole has a concrete tee pad.

+ Solid mix in distances ranging from under 200' to Over 500'. Most holes are wide open.

+ Practice area, restrooms, and more right at the beginning of the course.

Cons:

- It's a pretty easy place to throw for anybody but a beginner. Not much in terms of elevation change or tree coverage.

- The amount of pedestrian traffic is ridiculous! Skipped 1-3, 11, and 16 due to kids playing in the fairways. A trail may hold up play as well. Much too hectic for my taste.

- The flow is a little strange in the beginning. You start off with a weak hole under 200', then walk all the way around a lake to get to #2.

- A few holes are close together, and may result in the crossing of fairways.

Other Thoughts:

Great place to bring the kids, but the disc golf trail is way too busy with other pedestrian traffic to make me want to stop back. Maybe try playing in the rain or snow, because it's really a torturous round otherwise.

Amateur Hour 2+ years

Pros:

Park it was in reminded me of a Metropark, but it was free so I'm not mad. Pretty standard fare throughout; the shining holes were the ones along the pines...beautiful in there. holes 7-9 I think? Signs were clearly marked, although I found the distances to be a bit deceiving. Easy enough to follow, although there were some long walks between a few of the holes as it fed you from one section of park to the next. Bright yellow baskets and double-chains were a nice touch. Concrete tees on every hole.

Cons:

My biggest complaint here is what I'm naming the "Field of Wuss". #1 and 2 start off great (although #2's fairway was underwater), but then starting with #3 you are led around a clearing where no shot is over 200' and it's the exact same line along the brush every time. It goes like this: Tee pad in the brush a bit...a little tunnel then out into the clearing...basket along the edge of the brush. for four straight holes. We even played the "pro" tees on these which would've been challenging. if we were 12 years old. I don't understand why this Field of Wuss exists, as all of the other holes are great holes. This clearing did not jive with the rest of the course AT ALL and frankly was amateur hour. There seemed to be plenty of room to expand into the brush/woods around this area...not sure why that didn't happen. it would add another type of hole to the course as well as be a bit more challenging. i consider it a wasted design opportunity.

Other Thoughts:

Holes 16-18 under water due to the flooding this week. Actually had to drive through the river running over the road into the park to get in...hope that receeds soon!

Overall it was fun but lacked good mojo. Maybe on a summer day the shots by the lake and back by the river would be nice...just seems to me it wasn't designed very well. Seemed like they fit these holes in where they could and left it at that. Rather boring, looking back.

Pros:

Well maintained in the spring/summer months, nicely mowed fairways, nice tee signs, Huge parks with tons of ammeneties, bring the whole family here.

Concrete tee's

Cons:

Short, Open & EASY are the 3 best words to describe this course, front 9 are open and very eaisly 2able, with the exception of #7 (400ft)

Park is heavily used & somtimes closed due to activites going on.

#16,17,18 are sometimes unplayable if the river floods

Heavy brush on allot of holes make for lost discs

Mosquito's are out of control in the summer

Course has 0 elevation

Some holes have pro tee's but most do not?

Other Thoughts:

It's a fun course to play, but kinda far from 75, mabey a 10 or 12 mile hike.
