Flat easy 9 2+ years drive by

Pros:

The course plays through a flat city park. Most of the park is grassy with scattered mature trees, and a few more open grassy areas. Most of the holes have enough trees that they aren't just straightforward easy shots. The shorts offer good distances for newer players, and the longs offer some longer shots with a little more challenge. The tees are natural but are marked with bricks in the ground and easy to find. Both sets of tees have basic signage with hole length, and the park is open enough that the lack of hole maps is trivial. The baskets are in decent shape and catch ok.

Cons:

The park is very flat, and there's no danger for errant shots. That makes it pretty repetitive, and not very challenging, even from the back tees. The tees are natural, and are pretty rutted out. They don't provide great spots to tee from, and the erosion is spreading where it looks like people have teed off around the original tee area. A couple signs are missing, making those tees a little hard to find since they are at ground level. A couple spots are a little odd in terms of navigation, though a little looking and you'll figure it out. A park road comes into play and could be a little bit of a safety issue.

Other Thoughts:

This course is a good beginner course from the short tees, with no real trouble but enough trees to make newer players try some different shots. Even from the back tees, there's not enough challenge or variety to keep more experienced throwers entertained. It's an ok warm up to nearby Rockspring Park, but not really worth much of a trip on it's own.
