Fun park-style course. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 30, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is a slightly quirky city park course with some interesting holes. It's a mix of deuce or die must-gets, sneakily long par 3 smashes and technical, wooded holes. Lots of water in play as many holes play along a substantial creek. The course is fairly well maintained and easy to navigate as it basically just goes counter-clockwise along the creek. They must have had a tourney there recently as there was a lot of OB lines marked along the holes, making the easier holes a bit more interesting.

The Prodigy baskets catch well and are nice and visible. Really well done concrete tees and tee signs. Nice benches here and there.

This is a pleasant, quiet little park without much else going on in it other than the disc golf course. A nice change of pace if your usual course is busy with other park-goers and ball fields.

Although the course is mostly flat, there are some hilly holes on the back 9 to remind you that you're in Lynchburg.

Cons:

Course appears to flood a lot being so near the creek, lots of sand everywhere.

A lot of the baskets are installed really low to the ground, like if a midget designed the course.

Not many amenities or facilities, just a portable bathroom or two.

Other Thoughts:

Nothing really spectacular here but the designers did well with what they had to work with. A solid, fun course worth bagging for sure. This is the kind of course that can be really livened up with some Ript Revenge or something similar.

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 25, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-big variety of holes challenges forehand, backhand, distance, and distance control.
-nice, new prodigy baskets
-excellent signs and tee pads
-mix of open and wooded holes
-start and end by parking lot

Cons:

-as of 11/25/17 the course is missing baskets on holes 1,2,3,17,18
-some spots could have dead trees removed
-first 6 of the first 9 holes are along the creek, so you might have to do some adventuring through the creek to grab a disc (like I did)

Other Thoughts:

There's still a little work to be done, but come next spring this will be a great course to put on the wish list. Most holes are around 250-300 feet. There's a couple shorter than 200 and 1 hole that pushes 500 feet. I'm a lefty and threw a big mix of backhands and forehands off the tee. Even threw a roller or two in there.
The baskets are placed in good spots. Some with a few guardian trees, some with death putts. Definitely a course to spend some time at next year!
