Mountain Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 18, 2008 Played the course:once

Pros:

WOW! There is so much to say about this course. Designed by Pittsburgh's J Gary Dropcho. Course was a very small, poorly designed pitch and putt until J Gary arrived. Now it's a MONSTER! You ride up the main lift, play front nine. Ride up same lift and play back nine. Most holes are open playing either down or across the ski runs and none of them play up hill. There are holes where you can throw putters over 800 feet. I witnessed it for myself! Some good par 3s, 4s, and 5s. My favorite is the corkscrew, a par 3 where if you over throw you have a chance to throw it 300 feet down the rest of the slope.

Cons:

No tee pads, all natural. Eventhough you don't walk up hill, you must do a ton of walking down STEEP slopes. Your knees will feel it the next day. As of now there are no tee signs. Plans are in the works to have them installed before mid summer hits. Maps are available at the lodge. Some holes at the top of the mountain run along side the multi-million dollar condos, If you flip one you have a chance to hit one.

Other Thoughts:

This is a blast of a course. There are some beautiful holes here. One plays from the top to the bottom and like I said above can be reached with a putter. It's worth the cost of the lift ride.

Forgot to mention - Long tee plays 8989 feet!!!
