fun & easy short course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 14, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Decent & fun course, great for beginners with lots of short holes, but at times can be easy to lose discs. In the early spring before things really get growing it's not so bad.

This course was close to my workplace so I'd go at least a couple times a week through the summer. It's quite short (9 holes only) so you can get through a round or two in very little time.

Other Thoughts:

Although they'll typically be someone at the gate taking money for admission, I'd almost always just jump the short fence by the gatehouse and just walk in.

Short but fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 18, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

A reasonable mix of different types of short shots with punishing rough to reward accuracy. Well guarded baskets give additional challenge.
When the course has been recently groomed (or in late fall and early spring), the course is good for beginners.
For better players, birdies are possible on essentially every hole.
Not very busy. Natural tees areas are in good shape.

Cons:

-The long tee positions are still quite short and will not offer a lot of challenge to advanced players.
- expensive $5.50 / person gate fee make the course not worth it unless you are using the other facilities of the park (or you are a local and have a GRCA annual pass)
- limited gate hours in late fall and early spring when the course plays best
- the long grass and thick bushes off the fairways can make the course punishing to new players.
- Hole distances not marked on tee signs.

Other Thoughts:

Better than the average "9 baskets slapped into a city park".
