Great Variety 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 10, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course shows a very good variety of Idaho (Pocatallo) disc golf. It is kinda of like taking Bengal Ridge and Ross Park and combing them. However, this course definitely has its own flavor.

The first 7-19 holes are very relaxing, short, very birdiable grass holes. They warm you up for a challenging back 9.

The longer, desert terrain back 9 also shows a great mix of throws. Including some very long holes. You have many chances to throw some huge crushes with very pretty flight paths. However there is a fair amount of good use of the trees and brush to guard baskets and terrain.

Cons:

Being a young course, it does not yet have tee signs, or very obvious trails. It is currently very easy to get lost or confused due to some blind holes. However, this should be fixed as upgraded and matured.

May show a few issues with tournament play... as some of the flight paths may cross... as well as a couple of tee placements coming into play with other holes flight pattern.

Other Thoughts:

Greatly enjoyed playing this course, and is a great addition to Pocatello Disc Golf. Showing great recreational play as well as very challenging pro play.

I am not objective 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 6, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Lots of variety, long downhills, big turnover, hyzer, technical and open. The top is shorter than I would like to see, but you use what you have.

Cons:

Needs tee pads. Some blind shots could lead to lost discs. Still being developed.
The front 9 was developed to take some of the pressure off of Roos Park where very large groups and hordes of beginners take a very long time to finish 9 short holes. Thus the short park holes.

Other Thoughts:

This course is unlikely to see a lot of action on the back 9 due to the length. many groups opt to play just the fron once or twice rather than the whole 18. If the top is crowded jump on at 12 and play through the back.

Tournaments may experience some cross play on holes if inexperienced players lead the group the wrong way after driving or between holes.
