Pros:
As I begin this course review, one thing must be kept in mind. This "mid-range" course was designed for youth campers of all ages and all skill levels. There are some holes the make even the youngest players fell like they are doing well. With that goal, the course excels. Job well done!
The baskets are very nice prodigy baskets and catch the disks well.
There is now a beautiful color map sign at the start of the course and every hole has a nice, color sign with hole map and distance.
The flow of the course is very straight forward. Two holes are memorable, with hole 7 requiring you to throw it between and under the goal post then down the hill blindly to the chains. Hole 9 is now one of my favorites throwing downhill to an island which is a very tricky and fun shot.
There are bathrooms available onsite.
Cons:
I always hesitate with listing negatives because unlike for-profit golf courses, many disc golf courses are labors of love and free to the public. For that, I am thankful.
That said, this course will be easy for good players. Some holes are short even for a mid-range course. Instead it is IDEAL for families. I can't want for my kids to grow up a bit and start playing. We will definitely take them here!
The tees are a bit rough but pine chips are better than nothing. Hopefully these can be upgraded. I am sure they will be well maintained as the rest of the camp is.
Other Thoughts:
There is definitely room here for some much longer holes. I have a feeling, knowing some of the disc golf loving staff, they will eventually add some.
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed the afternoon there. If you and your family are in Holmes Co. and love to disc golf, give their office a call. I am sure they can get you in.
If you are a more seasoned disc golfer out looking for a really challenging play, this is a course you will probably want to pass by.
Again, a big thank you to Skyview Ranch for putting this course in. I am sure many a camper will be turned onto the game of disc golf because of it!
