Sierra Challenge 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 23, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The previous review notes the Pro's well.
As a RHFH myself, the course plays in my favor.
New concrete tee pads have been added on several holes.
Fast pace of play. (Low traffic/private course)

Cons:

Sunrise tee times, not likely.
Dog's not allowed.
Fairly cart friendly.

Other Thoughts:

I play with a group of guys and gals, who's home course is in Rocklin. We are the Two Round Crew. We have traveled to nearly 2 dozen courses in Cali and Somerset is one worth returning to. During our second visit to Charlie's course we decided to sponsor the #2 tee pad. 11/23/2013 we poured a 5x12' pad. A very cool custom sigh, representing the hole and our crew, is in the works and a new bench is also part of our plan.
The course will test you in many way's. Charlie holds tourney's there and from what I've been told, with the new layout, the current record is -3. That's a pretty serious game! Of the 18 of us that laid the pad, our low was a +5 for the day, on up to the mid teens.
Pack a lunch and some drinks. Clean up after yourself and remember you're on private property. If you're lucky enough to play with Charlie- keep in mind, he's a PDGE Hall of Famer. A wealth of knowledge about the game and course design.
