Pros:

Over time, Sooner Park continues to develop into an excellent course. Now with all concrete tee pads, Sooner Park offers everything a good course might require -- elevation changes, water hazards, woodiness, and plenty obstacles to conquer. Each hole offers numerous routes to take of varying difficulties. A fun, strategical course, particularly the back 9.
As the course progresses, the holes become more difficult and the game gets heady, which always adds to the fun.

Plenty of birdie holes

The park is well maintained and the locals are very friendly and helpful.

the gentle sloping hills the park stretches across make for great shifts in elevation.

Cons:

Recently a construction zone has been fenced off around the pond in the park, and this is responsible for holes 2 and 3 being closed temporarily. In the process of this project, an extremely large Pecan tree as well as an Oak were destroyed and removed from the course. They were very fun to play around, and regrettably this will not be possible again in the future, even after the project is finished.

There can also be some waiting time on a few holes, as the walking paths intersect the course at some points.

Other Thoughts:

with some exceptions, this course always tends to be windy, more so on the front 9 than in the back depending on the time of year. So get those headwind friendly drivers ready!

Sometimes people leave trash behind, and irresponsible pet owners leave the feces of their dogs, but this isn't anything we can't prevent as guests in the park. Please remember to take your trash with you and dispose of it properly in the bins provided to us by the park service.

As you step up to the tee on hole 18, be sure to pay homage to Jerry Stapleton, for without him the vision of the back 9 and concrete tee pads would not have been possible.
