Challenging Variety 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 11, 2021 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The diverse layout leads to a lot of fun, but also with a lot of challenge. Birdies here are hard earned from either tee, and pars are hard earned from the long tees. Here's my thoughts:
- Exceptional amenities, including professionally landscaped/constructed 'greens' around baskets at #6 and #15, and a hanging basket on #16, along with multiple benches and an elaborate course sign hanging over the path to the first tee.
- Long paver tees and really nice, detailed tee signs at (almost) every tee.
- The undergrowth/rough is tamed back pretty well on most holes, including removal of most poison ivy.
- Nice mulched areas around many of the baskets to create landing greens and further limit the undergrowth.
- Excellent diversity of hole layouts, with more than you might want of tights woods tunnels (#1-2, 8-14, and 17-18), as well as water carries (#3 and 7), light woods (#4, 6, and 15), and open field bomb opportunities (#5 and 16).
- Decent elevation changes for South Jersey, where there isn't much to work with. #4, 12, and 14 are slightly uphill, and #6, 13, and 15 are moderately downhill.
- Navigation is pretty straightforward, with nice next tee labels on the tee signs.
- Multiple basket positions on most holes can make for even greater diversity between rounds here.

Cons:

- ALWAYS busy. It's almost impossible to play a quick round here, not because of the long length, but because it's always packed. Plan to spend half a day here to get your round in, no matter what day of the week it is or what time of day it is. There are also frequent 1-2 day tournaments here on weekends, so try to find and check the schedule if you just want to come for fun.
- Parking. Getting into and out of the mulched parking lot is frankly dangerous. The entrance is narrow and along a very busy road, with serious potholes in the gravel that force you to take the entrance and exit turns really slowly. It's incredibly hard to turn left out of the lot when you leave too. Maybe the entrance drive could be widened and graded somehow?
- #2, 11, and 17 are very long tight tunnels all the way that will frustrate most recreational players. They also create a lot of repetition in the shots you're forced to throw.
- Thanks to all the great shade trees, during the fall you have deep leaf litter to search through for your disc.
- #7 from the long tees requires a SERIOUSLY long tee shot to make it over the pond. And the water's super murky, so if you can't bomb it straight for at least 300ft before it hits the ground, then kiss your disc goodbye. Make sure to bring a disc you're not too connected to specifically for this hole.

Other Thoughts:

- The layout is unequivocally excellent, but Stafford isn't perfect. I might get some downvotes for saying this, but to me a 4.5 or 5 star course would cater better to all crowds, including recreational players and traveling singles. With the frequent tournaments, it can be tough to 'get in' to Stafford, and it's pro-level challenges make it generally unwelcoming to beginners.

- My favorite would be #3: a soft left turning shot over a moderate-length pond, with the basket tucked in just behind a low ridge. Really unique hole design. A perfect tee shot over the pond and ridge can settle into the depression around the basket to setup a great chance for a birdie.

- Highly rated for many reason, thanks to a ton of hard work by devoted local volunteers and clubs. You'll love the variety of hole layouts, but remember you've been warned: only play the long tees if you're willing to struggle for par on many holes (especially the back 9).

Worthy of the praise 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 9, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

All the accolades are well-deserved here. It's both beautiful and beautifully maintained. Clean, no trash at all, reasonable underbrush.

Great signage with day-glow next-tee "blazes" on trees that make carrying a course map printout unnecessary. I didn't get turned around at all. It helped also that I was following the party ahead of me (smile).

Paver pads for us short throwers now as well as on the long tees. These pavers are lovely and how tees should be everywhere (smile). I think most holes have a substantial brick-and-concrete, wide bench! Awesome! And those that don't have such have cut-up logs stacked to make a bench. That's fabulous for us older folks who need to sit a few times during a round.

Challenging course but not oppressive. It's fair; like a stern but benevolent mother (I had one; may she RIP).

While some of the tunnels may feel repetitive, they are evenly distributed and not one after the other. And amongst themselves, not exactly the same. At least one difference from the other tunnels you would have recently played.

And some of the woods holes are distinctly their own: 2 (tight dogleg right) and 11 (long, tight S of a sort with dips and rises).

Some holes are definitely feel-good holes, with no. 16 at the top of that list. Despite the OB threats on both sides, I managed to par this longish hole (long for me) with its hanging basket.

Since I am a short thrower, I appreciated a beyond-the-pond drop zone for no. 3; I played stroke 3 from it versus losing a disc in the water (a 110% probability for me). I still scored bogey and lost no disc. The drop zone for no. 7 though requires you to go over the pond but start from its edge versus back in the woods. That's fair. I didn't play it though; wrote down 7 (par + 4). When I can consistently, rather effortlessly drive 250 feet, I'll try throwing over ponds of this size.

Cons:

The course is very popular, so it gets crowded. Particularly on a pretty-weather day, as was the day I played. The parking area is in definite need of paving. If this is private land (I think it is?), then would the local club consider starting a GoFundMe to get this parking lot paved --or graveled? If you are driving a low-slung sedan or coupe, be exceedingly careful where you try to park.

Finally this suggestion: The double-headed tee at no. 5 is a bit confusing. I wasn't sure which lane to throw down, where the basket was. Perhaps (on the tee sign) indicate the basket might be at the end of either lane and drill a couple holes in the sign for A pin and B pin; put a bolt and screw in the hole for the pin that is being used that day. If such was there and I missed seeing it, please forgive me. I see that the no. 6 sign was hand-edited for the forward tee's relocation, so perhaps both signs are on the docket to be replaced in the future. Thank you.

Other Thoughts:

Truly one of the Mid-Atlantic's premier courses, I would imagine. It's lovely. If you live in the area, you are very fortunate. If you are passing through, do stop and play it. It's the suburban reply to Sedgley Woods and tops said historic course on many levels IMHO.

I tried to play this course a year ago and (unluckily) only had 1 day to play it, which turned out to be a tournament day.

There is a walking path on the property. If the walkers stay on it, I think there is no conflict. Some though get lost or are doing something else. No need to lose your cool. I gather that doesn't happen a lot. I only ran into one group of pedestrians. They had with them a copper-colored spaniel who made my day (smile).

If you are a visitor to the area and need to get home via the NJT, your GPS may or may not malfunction (like mine has done twice now) and send you down the 73 S versus N after leaving Evesham. From the park, turn right and drive *east* on Evesham a few miles and then turn *left* (north) on 73. Take it up to the NJ Turnpike. With no traffic light at the park entrance, a right turn may be the only safe one you can make. People are hauling it down Evesham like bats out of hell!

Specialization At Stafford 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 24, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

+ Almost all of the tee pads felt consistent, sturdy, and had enough space for a good launch.
+ As the course is mostly within a dense forest, there are many trees in your way. This course demands planning and accuracy. Plus, the environment is very quiet and contemplative.
+ What few open area holes there are allow for some nice explosive drives.
+ The course is very efficiently designed in how it utilizes as much space as it can within the relatively small confines of its borders. There are enough trees blocking the view of the neighboring holes to prevent the player from feeling as through they are crammed next to one another .
+ The sheet metal diagrams next to the tee pads clearly and concisely inform the player where to throw and how far.
+ The lake OB hazard used in holes 3 and 7 adds a nice degree of eager apprehension.
+ The fairways are clean and easily to tell apart from the rough.

Cons:

- Some tee pads are too tiny for a full wind-up. Hole 13 specifically comes to mind because it is atop a hill. A false step could result in injury.
- I felt as though the course relies a bit too heavily on claustrophobic narrow shots between rows of trees. Perhaps this can simply be attributed to my low skill level, but some drives seemed ridiculously constricted.
- As mentioned in the pros, there are not many true open-air holes to unleash a powerful drive. As a result, the whole session can seem somewhat toned down from what one might be used to.
- The course shares space with a hiking trail. It is not uncommon for people who are walking their dogs or out for a stroll to unknowingly walk across your intended flight path.
- Few amenities in the way of trash cans, benches, and so forth.
- Hole 18 does not finish near hole 1 or the parking lot. First time players may get disorientated trying to find their way back.

Other Thoughts:

Stafford Woods is where you want to go to get some intensive practice with your laser beam throws. There are very many tunnel shots. Successful play will be achieved through controlled throws and purposeful planning. If you prefer the kinds of courses that allow you to wind up and let loose, this course can definitely accommodate you with their holes 4 through 6, arguably 7, 15, and 16, but just be aware that the primary goal of Stafford Woods seems to be testing its players intentional aim over brute force. Some may find it exhausting and tedious. Others may relish the chance to test their delivery. I fall somewhere in between those two crowds.

Their signature par 5 hole 11 is a serpentine journey through the heart of the forest with very little room for mistakes- at least from the perspective of a player like myself who has less than a year under his belt. Even though I am still terrible at it, I look forward to it each time.

I should mention that some of the course keepers started a conversation with me during my most recent session. They told me to keep an eye out for vandals who have been cutting down saplings or branches that they deemed to be 'in the way,' which goes against the spirit of the sport. So, that is something to watch out for.

In closing, I very much enjoyed the whole experience and appreciated the kinds of challenges forced upon me- even if they seemed repetitive at times. Stafford Woods is a neat and tidy course preferring accuracy over aggression. Go to Stafford Woods if you are seeking a peaceful round of perfect placement. Go to Stafford Woods if you really need to practice your perfect placement. Just go to Stafford Woods.

Jersey's Finest 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 9, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

As someone who travels a lot, and plays a lot of new courses, designing a road trip around the Philadelphia area is tough. So many great courses, so little time. I had not played in the state of New Jersey before, so adding a new state, as well as a stellar course was a must. Stafford Woods was just right.

Although I may not be a pro, or even an advanced player, I played the Gold tees. I would recommend that to anyone who knows anything about disc golf, because it is definitely a better round from the Longs than the Shorts.

The course itself was in pristine condition. Rough was well kept, the fairways were clear of debris, and all the paths were marked. In fact, I would've guaranteed one of my discs would have gotten lost, but the grass was short enough to find my disc with ease.

The paver tee pads were in very nice condition, and gripped very well. I was able to air out on drives without fear of slipping, and they were also very professional looking, as the brick was very well placed.

The tee signs were very descriptive, with a very nice map, the distances, and the par. All in full color. The baskets were Chainstars in great condition, and they caught well. Nothing outstanding, but absolutely a fine basket.

The holes themselves were very well designed. Left turns, right turns, both on the same hole. Uphill, and downhill. And even open holes, along with the killer wooded holes.

There were quite a few features that I would like to point out, as I believe the designer did a fantastic job, as well as the people who maintain the course.
-The stone terraced greens, as well as the brick tees, and wood work were extremely well crafted. Top notch work, that looks like it will stay in place for a long time.
- The one hanging basket was well hung, and added unique challenge to that specific hole.
- The two water carries were easy enough that you could cross without massive power, but also had a possibility of a tree kick to splash. Very nice holes.

Navigation was a breeze. There were lots of next tee signs, and if there wasn't, the next tee was self explanatory.

Cons:

As much as I loved playing the course, I have to point out a few things.

The white tees were still a work in progress. The holes that did have two tees were done nicely, and I am sure that two tees will be completed shortly.

Although the course had some very challenging holes for me, I felt that the golds would not provide the challenge to a pro. The course was challenging, and fair, but not overly challenging. This can be both a con and a pro, especially for a park course.

On the flip side, since there is currently only one always permanent tee, at a course with easy access to chuckers, the golds were a bit of a challenge. I saw some people who probably didn't know any better throwing 50 foot hyzers off the gold tee of a par 5.

The walk back to the parking lot was longer than most courses. There was a sign guiding you out, but after an 18 hole round in 90 degree weather, the cooler full of water in your car was screaming for attention.

The parking lot itself was not paved, or gravel. It was like a mulch, dirt, and leaf carpet. Just know that this is the actual parking lot. I was lucky kit was not a rainy day, but I have a feeling it could get bad after a good rain.

There was no significant wow factor. I didn't throw a 500 foot drive off a mountain. Stafford is just really, really, REALLY, solid golf. Nothing fancy, but definitely an easy 4 star course.

Other Thoughts:

I teetered between a 4 and a 4.5, but settled with a strong 4. I absolutely feel that a strong 4 will show that this course is definitely worth a play.

I would like to say how different every course feels. You have your destination course, and the solid courses, and the dinker courses, with lots in between. This is between a destination and solid. It felt a lot like a home course that you could play every day and not get bored, I think that courses like that are very important. I don't think you can play an 11,000 foot course every day. It is not worth it, and it takes a toll on you. Save those for special occasions. Have this for those every day plays, but also add it to your destination trip. That is what I did, And I loved every second of it,

Pros:

Nicely maintained course, tees marked well, signage for the next hole marked at every basket. Course is easily navigated first time out.
Couple of holes shoot over water (rake provided at the bunker for disc retrieval)
Decent elevation and a good mix of long and short holes.

Cons:

Parking lot is the only con I have.
Lots of wet mulch in the center, small cars beware.

Other Thoughts:

Plenty of seating while waiting to tee off at almost every hole, Although it hasn't been crowded anytime I've played, I've only had to wait a couple of times
The course is mostly wooded with several open shots. Accuracy is key here.
We will definitely make this part of our regular rotation
Easy to get to, just a couple of miles of 295.

This course is a gem! Without a doubt the best course in NJ. The updated paver tee pads are incredible! Baskets are in great conditions. Two practice baskets near the parking lot. Great signage as well! Holes are HARD but fair. This course is rewarding of a great shot on the wooded holes, rough is rough but always leaving you with an out and fun to bomb on the open holes! SJDG does a great job with the maintenance and locals are always a blast!

Cons:

Nope.

Tough wooded little course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Tee pads, seating have been improing every week.
Short and Long tee pads on 12 of 18 holes adds a varied challenge.
Water in play on 2 holes.
A good mix of Wooded and Open fields considering the nature of South Jersey (Arguably 6 "open" holes 4, 5, 6, 7, 15, 16)
Challenges the players to make smart decisions over a variety of shots. A smart player can mitigate the impact of trees and luck.

Cons:

Luck is a small factor due to the wooded nature.
Players need to pick up after themselves better, some trash throughout course, not the fault of the course though.

Other Thoughts:

The only course I've ever played, so I may be biased but IMHO an AMAZING course for the midatlantic

Pros:

-Intuitive layout, and "Next Tee" signs to help you along.
-Some open holes, most wooded, but not so tight as to make it unbearably hard
-Course maintenance is ongoing, and this makes for great playing conditions all the time

Cons:

-Parking lot could use something besides chipped wood as a surface. If you have a lowered car, be aware of how you enter
-Some high grass on some of the holes will swallow your disc

Other Thoughts:

I haven't been playing long, and this is the second course I played. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Tee pads are solid, the course layout makes sense, and the holes are a length that will both challenge and validate a variety of skill levels.

Parking lot is bad and muddy.

Other Thoughts:

Water hazard on 2 holes is extremely punishing and nearly impossible to retrieve your disc. My buddy lost his disc in the pond. While we were trying to find it someone else's disc came soaring into the pond from the other tee.

Great Course - Challenging Holes 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 9, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good for beginners and pros! This course is very clean and nicely maintained. Very narrow throws on some holes that can make it challenging for a beginner and also some wide open tees to really work on your long drives.Water hazards also add a challenging feature. Very well spread out and you hardly run into other players. Best course around if you live in the Burlington County area.

Cons:

Very small and unnoticeable entrance off of the roadway.

Other Thoughts:

Be careful with ticks as you are literally in the middle of the woods on some holes. Highly recommend using bright disc at this course as many holes have really high grass if you don't hit the fairway.

South Jersey gem 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 8, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Finally a good to great course in south Jersey (Philadelphia suburbs) all thanks to SJDG!

Not far from interstate hiway I-295.

Par 63 with lots of par 4's and a par 5; designed to fit today's discs capabilities and challenge highly rated golfers.

VARIETY of shots are needed; left to right, right to left, straight, long, short, wooded and open with a good use of what elevation there is in this part of Jersey.

Two shots over water! A lost and found box and a working club to return discs. I have brought back over 20 discs to Sedgley just this year.

New Chainstar baskets, I haven't seen many truly good shots get rejected by them.

Hanging basket on #16 is a nice touch.

Easy to navigate after finding hole #1 with plenty of yellow arrows and next tee signs. Long and short tees exist on most holes. Two loops of nine holes each.

Two practice baskets and a very clean port a john on site.

Tight wooded shots are required but they are mostly fair, if you hit the line, you can score some birdies.

Constantly improving (tee pads) since opening 3 years ago thanks to Adam and the many volunteers / local players.

Very clean area, hardly any litter on the course.

Cons:

Entering and exiting the course on Evesham Av is somewhat dangerous, please be extra careful. The one lane gravel bumpy driveway is a major pain.

The tee signs show 2 tee and 2 baskets yet some holes don't have that yet. A system needs to developed indicating which basket is currently in play since not all can be seen from the tee.

TICKS are in these woods and long grass on the open holes.

The teepads are a mixed bag, some cement pavers, some rubber ones, some have carpet (better than it sounds) and some short ones are dirt.

No running water is available.

The odd turn in 8's fairway (similar to Sedgley 27) and the way 9's fairway gets narrower as it gets longer. Maybe this is simply my problem?

You can definitely lose a disc in the pond on #3 and #7.

Other Thoughts:

Parking will expand very shortly with today's demolition of the on site house.

Every time I step up to long #2, it reminds me of Iron Hill.

#15 here reminds of #15 at Warwick, starting in the woods, then two long field shots and finishes back in the woods. Great par 4!

Wish the par 5 #11 had one or two less trees in the fairway. Landing in the middle doesn't always give a good look for your next shot.

Par is 63 from both long and short tees? I think not.

After 3 years of play now, the underbrush isn't so bad anymore. Plenty of laurel trees and some stickers to avoid though off the fairway.

I still haven't birdied several holes here: long 4, 5, long 11 and 15.

For those without a car, NJ Transit bus 451 passes the course but I'm not sure where the actual bus stop is. The PATCO Ashland train station is 2 miles from the course.

Plenty of food options are nearby, Shop Rite is basically across the street and Wawa is at the closest intersection.

"Four"hees 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 28, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

18 good, challenging holes with many offering two tees and many alternate pin positions. Baskets are Chainstar's, and they catch and look nice. Although there are a lot of tight wooded holes, you'll always have a definitive lane to hit. The water holes are not overwhelming, and add some OB to a course that doesn't have too much in the way of OB. Hanging basket on 16 a nice feature. Something for everyone. Close to the highway. Stays pretty dry even after recent rains, always a plus for a wooded course. Two practice baskets. Many par 4's and even a par 5.

Cons:

The parking lot. Not many spaces available and it is a little marshy. Although there are not many long walks from hole to hole, it is a little walk back to the parking lot from basket 18.

Other Thoughts:

Again, the course has a number of pro par fours mixed in with tight birdie runs and even a par five, welcome deviations from your prototypical par 54 course. It was a thrill to play this course on my trip to the area, and worth the drive if you're in the Philadelphia area.

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 23, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Stafford Woods is a way better course than I expected when I was driving in. I didn't expect a really good wooded course because the area seemed so developed. Very peaceful feel even though you are so close to the hubbub. The course was manicured with nearly no underbrush and very little litter. There is a nice variety with elevation, distances, turns, and risk/reward. There a couple open holes but it is mostly wooded. Most holes have 2 tee pads. There are different types of tee boxes but all of them were solid footing.

Other Pros:

-nice tee signs and arrows for easy navigation
-2 water carries
-2 practice baskets
-challenging yet fun
-well designed (two 9 hole loops)

Cons:

I knew the driveway was going to be hard to catch but we still blew right past it. The road is busy and higher speed so by the time we saw the sign for the course we were past it. 2 U-turns and we made it. Then I felt like we were at someone's house. But all was good, the house is used for the locals tourneys, message boards, and lost and found box. We had trouble finding the 1st tee, but I pulled up the map and didn't need the map after tee #1 was found. The parking area can be tricky if it's busy as it's just a carved out area in the trees. These are really just nitpicks. The locals have done a great job creating a gem.

Other Thoughts:

I really was completely surprised. The course deserves the rating it has earned. I will be back. I really enjoyed the water carries. Both aren't too far but you need to worry about making it past the slope so your disc doesn't roll back to the pond. Great course, highly recommended

Pros:

18 chainstar baskets. Nice tee signs, and directional arrows guiding you throughout the course.
Water comes into play on 2 holes. (#3 and #7)
Most holes have multiple tees and are comprised of stone pavers or carpeted boxes. (still under construction)
Multiple basket locations on each hole keep things interesting.
Nice use of fast greens will keep you thinking while your putter is in hand.
2 elevated baskets and 1 hanger will challenge even the best putters.
Extremely fair and well thought out design. Good use of the terrain, wooded and technical, risk vs. reward.
I think Stafford is unique in that it plays just as hard from the short tees as it does the long tee's.
The course consist of several par 4' s and a true par 5 (#11)

Portable toilets and plenty of parking on site.

Cons:

Pulling out of or into Stafford Farm on to Evesham Rd. at the wrong time of day!

Carpeted tees will eventually be replaced.

Other Thoughts:

Lost and found box
2 practice baskets
Great new course in SJ, for a great new club. You won't feel like you're in New Jersey while at Stafford Woods.

Cons:

A little hard to find if you don't know where you are looking, as the sign for the entrance is very small and it can be difficult to make a left had turn into the parking area because of oncoming traffic.
Some holes are really tight with trees and can be very difficult for a new player. The rough is deep in the field holes and the weeds can eat your disc very easily.

Other Thoughts:

This is a course local to me and the home course to some of my friends. Had a pleasurable experience out learning the course. Certainly a different kind of challenge, even from the short tees. This course can be very difficult for a new player and having a more experienced player with you to learn the lines and basket locations is a huge help.
This will be a premier course in the area as the tee pads are updated and entrance is marked more clearly . SJDG has done a fantastic job promoting the sport in our area and taking care of our local courses. Looking forward to seeing these courses develop and my game improving too.

Wooded and Weird 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 18, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

Stafford Woods is immediately different from the moment you drive in the parking lot. Tucked in a densely wooded drive, don't miss the turn because the sign pops out at the last moment. Once you park, there is a building and a bigger, more graffiti art Stafford Woods sign and some other info posted near by. Trash cans and a porto potty are also near the parking area. The first hole, and the 10th hole are just a short walk from there. The composition of the course changes from time to time. Much of it is wooded, and this is the feel on hole 1. Hole 2 is the same but longer, and the basket is atop a ridge that is a few steps higher than most of the fairway. Then on hole 3 you throw across a pond, that is blind from the long tee box. Climb that mound and get a look at the basket on the sloping bank on the opposite side before you drive. Hole 4 is more open and grassy, and the long grass to the left almost ate my Tee Bird, so watch out. The morning dew soaked my shoes and socks searching. Hole 5 really wide open, and 6 starts that way, but the basket is on a tall mound with a few trees scattered around it. Number 7 goes back across the pond, and the front nine finishes fully engulfed by the woods. The back nine also begins woodsy, but 10 is a good chance for a deuce. 11 is a long, twisting fairway, where elevation changes in contour is more noticeable, and hit me hard for a 7. 12 is short, but climbs a real hill. 12, 13, and 14 are all shorter, but wooded holes, and I scored another bird on 13. 15 tees out of the woods and crosses an expansive grass field before entering trees on the other side. 16 goes back across the grass, and the basket hangs in a tree, long but very wide open and straight forward. 17 takes you into the woods again for another long hole. I made a 3 thanks to a great drive. 18 finishes out with a shorter, dogleg left in heavy woods. I had a rough start, but was only 3 over par 66 at the end. One under on the back nine.

All of the baskets were in good shape, the long tees were concrete with signs, and the park was clean and trimmed well enough for me. A quality course certainly. Dog was finally able to break free of the leash here, and splash the pond scum like a champ.

Cons:

Holes 5 and 16 were conventional and a bit bland, but served their purpose. The trees were overwhelming out of the box on hole 9. Throw and hope you make it through.

Other Thoughts:

Stafford Woods had some good contrasting features, including water hazards, open to dense woods, with some nice elements of elevation change also. I liked it and was glad I chose to stop there. Not in the same class with some of the other courses in the region, but a good one for Jersey. Recommend it to any player who is nearby and hasn't made the trip yet. Fully deserving of the rating it has if you ask me.

Great Mix 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 14, 2014 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Like my review title states. This course is a great mix of everything. The thing I think that I like the absolute most about this course is that it is so even when it comes to right and left handed favored holes. Great mix of wooded, moderately wooded, and open holes. The course is very well marked and there are two distinct 9 hole loops that start and finish near the parking area. Good basket locations, elevated holes and even a hanging basket. The hanging basket is actually in a great location and not just a 'gimmick'. Nice little pond where 2 holes throw over top of. Two layouts for each holes (for the most part).

Cons:

The only cons I have for this course is the lack of elevation and not concrete tee pads. The parking situation is a bit tricky but doable and the entrance to the park is a bit hidden.

Other Thoughts:

Great course. Would love to play more often but unfortunately I live 2 hours away. Will definitely be back to play if in the area. There is also a walking trail through the park if you are looking for something non disc golf related at the park.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 5, 2013 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Well kept course, well marked and more of a challenge now that trees have foliage. Can't wait for the back nine. The water holes have claimed a few of my discs no fault of the course just my bad play.Love this course, the new tee pads are great. This is a well maintained course and always fun to play.

Cons:

Bring you bug spray ticks are out but that is anywhere that there is woods.Parking lot needs to be expanded but hear that will be done soon.

Other Thoughts:

The course has had some updates since I last reviewed it. Parking lot has been expanded and can accommodate many cars now, the driveway is much better, a lost disc box has been installed, a port-a-potty is also there, and the back 9 is almost ready!

We want the back 9! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 20, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This 9 holer has a great combo of open fields to rip long drives and wooded holes to test your accuracy, line strategy, not to mention patience. Good use of the small pond to raise the level of difficulty and think twice about your shots. Dual tees make a nice 18 holer if you have the time. Very well kept and has good signage.

Cons:

Not too much on the negative side, except parking. It seems if you catch it on a busy day you have trouble finding a place to put the wheels. Lost a few discs in the pond, but that's player error. Great course!

Other Thoughts:

Hoping for the next 9 to be put in soon (the sign to tee 10 is a tease!)
