Fun Beginners' Course...Watch Out for Pedestrians! drive by

Pros:
Tart Park DGC is a fun park-style, beginners' course in a very busy public park. The park has ball fields, a playground, and a walking trail (which the disc golf course essentially follows around the park), so there are a lot of park-goers here...and 99% of them aren't disc golfers and scratch their heads watching people throw discs around the park at baskets. In other words, yield to pedestrians, be careful and courteous!
+ Fun beginners' course to introduce new players to the game.
+ Well-maintained park
+ The course is simple to navigate with tee signs on all 9 holes -- and the next tee is usually right next to the previous basket (or very close).
+ Some variety in hole lengths, with two sub-200-foot holes (from the white tees), three in the 200's, two in the 300's, and two around 410 feet.
+ Ace-runs and birdie opportunities abound in this simple red-level course.
+ I like hanging the disc out over the fenced ballfields and hyzering back inbounds. I wouldn't recommend if a baseball game is going on! But it was a fun aspect of the course when i played.

Cons:
This is a fun little course that is convenient to I-95 in Dunn, NC. But there are some drawbacks you should be aware of:
- First and foremost, pedestrian safety is a concern here. When I played, it was a busy weekday evening and multiple youth soccer games and other activities were going on. On the short par 4 hole #2 (only 372 feet from the white tees, so a reachable par 4 for some players...although not me!), I had to short a short putter shot off the tee so as not to endanger the people using the batting cage to the right of the hole or the people watching a soccer game to the left of the hole. And then essentially on every hole after that, you have to watch for people walking on the jogging trail. But the worst and most dangerous hole is #8. I had to skip that one entirely. It's a longer par 4 (412 feet from the white tee), but plays right through a playground and crowded area of the park with people watching games. I looked for places to tee off closer to the basket that would've been safer, and really didn't have any opportunities until what was essentially a jump putt. I would probably just pull that hole and look for another area to put that hole. There seemed to be an area near hole #7 to add a hole.
- This is a wide open course with very few obstacles. You can basically approach each hole with whatever shot you want. It does not force you into certain types of shots.

Other Thoughts:
It's worth bagging this short course if you're passing through. Just be respectful and yield to pedestrians.
