Fun course that is well maintained drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 20, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- Centrally located in Hattiesburg, only a few minutes from the USM campus
- new tee pads installed within the last few years
- great group of locals who play the course and all seem to be friendly.
- benches located at some holes, as well as trashcans to discard trash
- located in a large "sports complex", so the course and surrounding area all seems to be well maintained.

Cons:

- the course layout can be a little tricky if it's your first time there, but after I went once I pretty much had no more issues.

Other Thoughts:

During the spring and summer you may encounter snakes that poisonous. It is wise to always watch where you step and always pay attention when grabbing for a disc on the ground. This is a wooded course in south Mississippi, so snakes are just a part of this environment during warmer months, but some people may not be aware.

Pros:

•Great Beginners Course
•Challenging Wood Terrain Features
•Long Walking Distance
•Road OB on 1

Cons:

•Bad Signage System
•No real Water Hazard
•Short until #18
•Spread apart across the park... Makes navigation confusing
•Needs trims in wooded areas

Other Thoughts:

Needs new Tee Signs. Helps to have a local around. Tee Pads needs work.

Pros:

What it lacks in distance, it makes up for in technicallity. It's a full 18 hole course with a huge variety of holes. The only water hazard is small so its harder to lose your disc. Hole 13 is close to the first tee pad and makes for nice putt practice, as long as you keep an eye out for players coming through the course. Hole 18 is near 500' so you can give it all you've got. The baskets are kept in great condition and have plenty of chains.

Cons:

Most of the tees are natural for now, so weather makes a big difference. Some holes seem impossible to birdie (for a rookie like me).

Other Thoughts:

I really liked this course. The layout of the course is nice and the park seems well kept. Signs lead the way to the next hole so you know where your going for your first visit. Chances are you wont have to play alone, because it seems many people play here
