Flying blind 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 3, 2021 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Some interesting holes on some hilly terrain

Cons:

Lack of any real signage. Janky spray paint on posts giving rough distance. Mud in the grassy areas. Poor indication of the direction to the next unmarked tee.

I feel bad trespassing on shrek’s home... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 24, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Baskets are visible on approach to the hole and/or from the tee
-Most fairways are good but... (see bullet 3 in cons section)
-Elevation is used really really well, hole 18 is a massive downhill, so massive in fact that you can expect to lose a disc. (This is a pro and a con)
-This is a mostly wooded course where trees come into play often, they make it challenging, but not too hard.
-Terrace Creek Park is a really pretty park
-Lots of options in terms of what to throw, many creative lines, as well as a few traditional ones

Cons:

-Tees are too small, and sometimes awkward to get on if they are on a hill
-There was one tee sign (#7) and it was covered in graffiti
-Hole 11's fairway is a concrete running path which has many runners on it, hole 9 you have the option of concrete path, or a swamp.
-Disc Golf Paths are awful, running Paths are decent. Hole 18's path is basically a dried out waterfall, bring your butt padding.
-Navigation is impossible without a map, and very difficult with a map, No Tee signs + haphazard layout + unclear markings on Baskets=impossible
-Only a few benches, many of which are rotten wood
-Many fairways intersect, or end within 20 feet of the next tee. Fairways also cross running paths (or are running Paths) frequently.
-This course gets a 1/4 on the New Shoe Index, Of someone can play this course without getting mud all over their shoes I will buy them dinner.
(Not actually but you get the idea)
-Holes 1-4 are completely separate from the rest of the course, also hole 18 to parking lot is a really long walk, the course doesn't loop around at all.

Other Thoughts:

If you are tired of playing the same old courses, give this one a try, it is nice and close to Seattle. However, don't go out of your way.

Could be great 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 22, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-good variety, in terms of layout almost every hole is unique, only a few holes seem similar, distance wise there may be a few ace runs but due to trees an ace run can't be a guarantee

Cons:

-hardly any signs, not many palces to sit, hardly any trash cans, last few holes can be confusing to navigate
-I really don't care for the walk to hole 12 or the walk back after the 18th
-course seems dirty and like a place where "no-goodniks" might go to hide from the public eye to do unsavory activites

Other Thoughts:

Overall this course is fun and a good challenge. I feel like the course is somewhat neglected or under appreciated. If the resources where available and this course put through a major renovation it could be championship level. The area of the park is 60 acres, if more holes could be in the woods that could cool, and it'd be nice to see dual tee pads and multiple basket placements.

2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 29, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

- 11 holes have concrete tee pads
- A couple of fun new holes added recently
- Lots of elevation change
- Quality front 9
- Awesome hole 18 when pin is in the normal location

Cons:

- No signs
- Hard to navigate
- Back 9 has been all messed up by work done due to erosion issues, and the addition of a dog park
- 6 holes with dirt/gravel pads, and 1 hole with the tee on a downward sloping access road
- Long walk to and from back 9
- Good chance to lose a disc
- Public park with a playground, plenty of people

Other Thoughts:

Like I said the front 9 is a lot of fun (just watch out for folks enjoying the park)... but the back 9 needs help. It was much better before all the erosion work was done. I'm hoping that they will continue to fix it up, there's tons of potential. If they move pin 18 back to it's normal position...what an epic shot.

Potential... but no Kinetic 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 15, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Good variety of holes - both technical and some longer open shots. Busy course. Great use of the space. Ample parking.

Cons:

No tee signs, trash cans, next tee directions, or course map at site. The course had a bit of trash at about every other tee pad. It was difficult to find the order of the holes, as a somewhat recent change to the course has not been reflected on the course. So the hole numbers on the basket, the only markers on many holes, turned out to be wrong.

Other Thoughts:

I just had come from NAD... so I may have been a bit biased... but I decided the bias was reasonable and realistic. This course could be significantly better with some attention to the details. It is still fun to play - just wath the group in front of you until this gets sorted out!

Rough in the Emerald 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 24, 2007 Played the course:once

Pros:

The Good: Good mix of holes, lots of woods incorporated in the mix, in fact there's only one truly "open" hole for the whole course. None of the holes are gimmes, even the short ones have challenging obstacles/boundaries to thread by. Also most of the holes have some sort of elevation in play. Signature hole is #17, a ~500' top of the world shot.

Cons:

The Bad: First and foremost...litter. Trash stacks up at this course, regardless of efforts to keep it in check. Some is contributed by lazy golfers, a lot is contributed by local kids, it's only cleaned up by a relatively small contingent of golfers. Also the course is visited by the aforementioned kids, resulting in lots of tagging and vandalism. No tee signs are in the ground because of them, and several trees have been hacked by them. Some of the teepads are in rough shape and could use some repair, can be extremely difficult to find your way around without a map or a local (especially the back 9). Oh yeah, and blackberries...lots and lots of blackberries. (Course motto: If you aren't bleeding, then you didn't play Terrace)

Other Thoughts:

The Ugly?: Due to the environmental reasons and an off leash dog park getting installed, holes 11-14 will be removed/replaced. Only time will tell if this will be a change for the better or worse.

Overall, a very good course with plenty of challenge. Could really use some maintenance though--if the course could be cleaned up (and kept that way), it could be excellent.
