Pros:
I'm truly torn on this one, It's new, and may have potential, but it's not there yet. I will update the review as it progresses. "Championship caliber layout" is disingenuous and the reason for the review.
-Not on the best side of town (will have rando's walking in there which is odd to come across), but is patrolled by local PD and often has a cop sitting in the center parking lot.
-Multiple Tee's white/red/blue (quite a few of the red/blue share the same T pad)
-The holes that have been mulched look good (baskets are kind of low/short in height now)
-New signs that look good, although a few show green/fairways that aren't actually accurate. (Maybe they will be there in the future?)
The Best part is half my Con's will disappear when the course is actually finished/polished/ and proven to be up-kept (weeds were already 3-4" coming straight up down the center on a few of the fairways)
Cons:
-Extremely uneven and non leveled fairways. (3-4' mounds of dirt and holes down some of the fairway that need leveled)
-Absurdly tight fairways at times, which is made worse by the overgrown weeds on the edge of the fairways.
-Trash, your disc will literally kick up trash when it hits the ground on a few of the holes.
-Uses a very busy roadway as an OB line, and places at least one of the baskets along the roadway as an obstacle, which is around a blind corner.
-There was an extra basket in the field at 10 & 12 which caused confusion. (there during multiple trips)
-Some of the mando's take a 30' fairway and turn it into a 20' tunnel for no reason (hole 18). Adds difficulty to an already difficult course.
-Quite a few T pads still unpoured as of Early July, which is actually worse than not having concrete T pads because the forms are still in-place hindering play.
-Old recycled hardware (baskets aren't in the best shape), Chain Star baskets
-Some backtracking/distance between a few of the baskets and the next hole
Other Thoughts:
It doesn't play around the parking lot in the middle of the course, it begins with a single hole (hole 1) that is way offset from the others. Odd to have a 19 hole course when hole 1 is so disjointed. We are talking an 1/8th of a mile measured on google maps, between an active baseball and soccer field.
If you are coming from out of town print a map first, otherwise you will get lost.
Also local club is up in arms and encouraging 5 star reviews for their unfinished course. Again i will UPDATE this review when the course is finished, but they are being extremely disingenuous at this point in time.
