nice, small, fun, short 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 24, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

+nice tee signs (with the ability to hang the disc bag from)
+yellow painted 2x4 embedded into the ground to mark the front of the tee
+very nice baskets
+the park is very well taken care of
+nice area to picnic and there is a playground very close
+good use of the available obstacles

Cons:

-tee signs do not include a map (but one is not needed)
-tee signs measure the distance in yards instead of feet as is usually the norm
-no pads of any kind
-the first 4 are very short holes
-only 9 holes
-no course map (this would be helpful as twice you need to move across the road to play the next hole from #4 to #5 and from #5 to #6)

Other Thoughts:

Im not an expert but this course is definitely a beginner course - it was very easy but fun. the park is so well maintained that I thought the first 4 holes were on private property. hole 5 is a tough dog leg to the right. hole 8 (my favorite) has a shallow drain and some trees near it making for a water hazard and hole 9 is hidden behind a row of trees. when I visited there was no one else on the course but the first 4 holes could be troublesome if there were people out for a picnic.

To help those who are visiting for the first time: hole 1 is near the northwest corner of the park. once you finish hole 4 turn right (north) and walk towards the ball diamond across the road to find hole 5. After you finish hole 5 continue walking around the ball diamond heading northeast. you should see the holes and tees for the final 4 across the road.

I am visiting the Williston area for work and I would suggest checking this course out if you can make the drive. I posted a review on the Spring Lake Course that will help with the difficulty and blind holes that are present there but playing 9 holes twice here is not a bad way to spend some time either. The Williston course is nearly a full 18 (there is one missing hole and some are hard to find) but it is not maintained well so it is nearly impossible to navigate the course without the help of a local or spending a lot of time searching for discs and holes. The Williston course has "blind" tees where the hole is no where to be seen and there is no map at the park.
