Pros:

Some technical shots needed for low ceilings or trees. Fun for beginners.

Cons:

Couple holes run through playground area.

Other Thoughts:

Very fun for someone new to the game with some grasp of different shots and flight paths.

Nice and Short Park Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 3, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This 9 hole course is located in a very nice but small city park with little to no elevation changes but a decent amount of foliage to contend with on the first 5 holes.

The starting holes are very short but offer the options for a few different lines to get placement if you're not feeling throwing a straight shot. Hole #5 doglegs long and hard around the outer fence of a baseball field so a RHFH or LHBH shot is a must! Holes #6-9 are placed in an open field and allow for more bigger throws but only #8 & #9 have any trees to contend with... barely.

The tee pads are dirt but do have yellow toe boards and have very nice wooden signs next to them which have the hole # and distance listed in yards (weird but not hard to convert to feet in your head). The baskets are all in great shape. Maps of the course isn't necessary, just look for the big signs for the next tee pad and know that hole #5 is across the road from hole #1.

Cons:

The overall layout for this course was done fairly poorly in my opinion. Holes #1-4 are placed within the tree-rich park and then across the road is Hole #5 with the remaining holes being even further away in the open field and hole #9, although a nicely done hole, ends far away from anything. It's best to just play the holes in reverse to get back to hole #1 since you have to walk the course back anyway.

The yards instead of feet on the signs but it's a tiny, minor con. 1 yard = 3 feet. Easy conversion.

Other Thoughts:

When I played this course I was the only person on the course but not in the park. As to be expected with city parks, there is the ever-present hazard of people hanging around.

I decided to give this course a 3.0 rating because it is in great shape, nice signs and baskets and does have some shot placement requirements. The poor layout and little difficulty keep it from being more. I would recommend this course to anyone in the area for a quick round or 3, especially if you've tried Spring Lake DGC in Williston and are tired of searching for your discs in that crazy long grass. Nice beginner course though!

A City park course again! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 17, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

The baskets are in great shape, but they are new. The layout on the back four, give you some room to air out your disc. The first five, will make you work on your controll throwing. I do perfer grass tee to other tee, so the grass is not worn down.

Cons:

I like to see an overview course layout sign. There is no Tee signs, just an yellow painted wood log on the ground. Hole # 5 is across the road behind the ballpark and 6 thru 9 are arcoss the road again. There a long walk back from 9 to 1, if you want to start another round. Because the first four are in the main park, you need to watch out for other people.

Other Thoughts:

This is a well maintain park, with camping near by and a swimming pool. Tioga is in a middle of an OIL BOOM, so there is lots of traffic in town.
