Pros:
First, I will state that I am not a desert guy so I didn"t find this location to be overly attractive. Like mashnut, I appreciate the tremendous amount of work that someone has put into this course. Unfortunately, the terrain is just a big rocky, vacant lot with some scrubby desert plants. The designer has done just about everything possible and I certainly applaud his efforts but...in the end, all you have is some homemade baskets out in thi Desert scrubland.
The teepads have recently been upgraded to a building block of some kind. I think they might be roofing tiles and some are breaking up.
There are some nice touches. There is a nice course sign at the beginning with the course name painted on a rock. The tee signs are nice, too. They're painted on tiles.
The pars are basically junior high pars or one higher than they should be on each hole. I finally figured out that took in consideration spit outs-basically one stroke per hole!
Cons:
Ugly vacant lot desert terrain!
Homemade baskets with single chains spit out all six of my putts from over about 10 feet.
Some of the nice tile pads are breaking up.
Other Thoughts:
My highlight of my round today was stopping by the remote control airplane facility and chatting up the pilot between his flights. The cool concrete runway is right next to the 8th hole. I was quite impressed with how well he maneuvered his RC aircraft with 8 foot wide wings.
Back to the desert course. There's not much disc golf competition for many miles in any direction. If I lived here, I believe I'd take up flying those RC airplanes!
