Long and hard 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 10, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Only a few easy holes. With the exception of the first two, every hole requires you to hit a gap. No easy birdies or ace runs.

- 2+ hours of play (if you don't lose a disc).

- Water hazard on a couple holes. (water is usually, but not always clear enough to find discs easily)

-Lots of parking.

-Good baskets.

-Drinking fountains

-Practice basket

-Wildlife. I've seen several deer and many squirrels. You can also see the fish swimming around in the river.

Cons:

-Easy to lose a disc on holes 6, 7, 8, and 21. 8 is especially bad since it's a blind shot over tall grass and around thick vegetation.

-Little elevation change.

-No bridge between hole 17 tee and basket. Takes about 5 minutes to walk around river.

-Lots of pedestrians on course (picnics, bbqs, etc).

-Bugs are pretty bad in the woods.

Other Thoughts:

This is a pretty challenging and long course that depends heavily on your ability to hit a gap. Don't throw your favorite disc on holes 6-8 as it's very easy to lose a disc in the grass. Hole 10 is very difficult, but It rewards you with a potential eagle if you can stay on the fairway.

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 5, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-21 holes
-Long and short tees on 18 of the holes
-Large and level concrete tees
-Open and wooded holes
-A small creek comes into play on many of the holes
-Easy to see and retrieve discs from the creek most of the time (unless it recently rained)
-Good use of small elevation changes
-Few places to lose your disc
-Restrooms near the practice basket and near holes 13-15
-Trash cans on many of the holes with some of them painted (batman)
-Lots of room to air it out on many of the holes while still requiring an accurate throw on a specific line and angle of attack
-Course flows well
-Avoids other park users for the most part
-Spaced apart from other holes well

Cons:

-Little to no elevation change on most holes
-Could use more variety in distances considering many of the short tees are 225-300 ft. and many of the long tees are 275-350 ft.
-Long grass along the right of 6, all of 7's fairway, and most of hole 8 (park & rec refuses to mow it)
-Difficult to retrieve discs shanked to the other side of the creek on holes where the creek comes into play

Other Thoughts:

This is one of the oldest and still one of the best courses in the area. There are many dedicated disc golfers in town that maintain the course.

Disc Go Here, Disc Go There... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 7, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Multiple tees & Nice concrete tee markers with map, par, & yardage on each hole. Nice mix of challenging wood & open holes, some with very pronounced doglegs. Has 27 holes.

Cons:

Hard to navigate. Was told that there were scorecards at the 1st tee but there weren't. Some of the signs need repair; one was torn off the marker. Quite a bit of litter around the course due to the park being heavily used.

Other Thoughts:

Aside from the navigation issues, Todd Park is a fun course to play with challenging tree holes as well as the more open ones. The rough on a couple of these open holes is 3 feet deep & swallows discs. The river comes into play also making it one of the most challenging layouts in SE Minnesota.
