Very nice course but limited in diversity. 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Really nice park. Great to have two courses on the same property. Nice to have trails and other activities on the premise,. however, this also limits the options available for disc golf. The course can't really open up based on the landscape. With the walking trails weaving through the course, it forces "technical" shots and really nothing else. Feels like luck plays too much of a factor compared to other great courses I have played. There is a great sense of history at the course with the enormous trees and age of the park. Really enjoyed my rounds at this course.

Cons:

I obviously mentioned some of the shortcomings in the pros but I will quickly review. Great course but many of the holes feel less skill than luck. Also, a fairly short course in terms of distance and even the holes with length are a little janky. Would 100% recommend the park if ever in the area but be prepared to have many good shots penalized based on the limited options the course provides.

Other Thoughts:

Wonderful park. Very cool setting. Amazing, huge trees and a nearby creek/river really create an awesome sense of ambiance. Great course for midrange and putter throwers. Fast discs that are a hair off-line will be deeply penalized.

Very good, but not as great as the current review (4.94) states 2+ years drive by

Pros:

The guys seem to do a lot of work on the course and it's much appreciated. Pretty solid signage. Branches and fallen trees moved out of the way and some even made into bunkers (which can help or hurt you). Great idea on the signs at the tee to mark which pin is being played and what par it is. Garbage cans and water are more abundant than normal here compared to other courses. Challenging layout. Long for the real above average players.

Cons:

in my opinion, i really don't like holes that have baskets that are artificially elevated. there were 3-4 of these holes when i played and i just really don't like that and think it's gimmicky. the average disc golfer will miss the putt and then miss the comeback since we're mostly not pros out here. the course was nice, but a lot of holes just blend together and seem the same. could use another set of tee pads closer since this course is really difficult for average to below average disc golfers, in my opinion.

Baskets are really dated

Other Thoughts:

Overall, I don't thinks this course is close to the 4.94 rating it currently has. Brakewell Steel in Warwick, NY is a decent amount better than this course and has a lower score than Tyler East.

Update as of 7/20/2017: played it again today and still don't understand how it's rated as a top 10 course in the nation. It's certainly good but doesn't have enough of a mix in style of holes to make it a top course, imo.

Good course but the 4.94 score is a bit much.
