It's incredibly well maintained, with nice signs, concrete tees boxes, multiple hole locations, and fairways well-marked by mowing. There's a nice variety of shots required, in both shape and distance. The long tees are well-positioned and generally create a different experience, rather than just making the hole longer.

There's ample parking and rest rooms available. The park rangers keep any discs they find and will return them if you come looking.

The rough on some of the holes will consume errant throws.

This is my favorite course in Madison. This was a pay-to-play course long before the city courses started charging, and the condition of the course reflects that. Like its sister course, Capital Springs, this is a great example of how a disc golf course can feel just as nice as a real golf course.

Beautifully manicured park with cleanly mowed fairways. I've played this course at least a dozen times and have never seen the maintenance get behind and have never seen garbage on this course - it is always in excellent condition. Two large concrete tees per hole and three basket positions per hole that are rotated on a regular basis with nice signs at each tee with distances for each basket position and benches at most of the tees. The long and short tees provide a fair challenge for players of different skill levels. With several holes over 500 feet from the long tees, there is plenty of length for the big arms, and the short tees provide a more manageable course for the rest. With 27 holes and 3 baskets per hole (except #22 - the "island" hole), there are 79 basket positions, and with most holes, the different basket positions change how to throw your tee shot, and you need to have proficiency in moving the disc in both directions to score well. The landscaping, in the form of rock retaining walls, around some of the baskets is also very nice - makes it look nice and adds a degree of challenge.

None that I can think of. Some people might not like pay to play, but to me, this course really shows what disc golf can be when money goes back in to the course.

Although many of the holes look open, most of them force appropriate positioning to set up scoring opportunities. Whether you have big arm or not, you still need to be accurate for your birdie chances. The wooded holes force you to hit tight lines for good birdie chances, and even the more open holes have just enough trees to force you left or right for a good approach line. The only thing I think they could do to improve the course is to have a better basket rotation. The baskets are rotated such that they are all short, all medium, or all long. All short can be a little easy. All long can get a little tough from always having to throw long shots. It would be nice if they would have a third of the holes at each position at any given time, and rotate the baskets with the same frequency they do now between the three positions.

The only con for me is the new 9 holes have shorter tee pads. The daily pass is a con because it is $8, but because I buy the season pass for $45, it is worth it for me. It's not a con if you live in Madison, but for a traveller who may only play once or twice, it would be a con.

This is my favorite course in Madison. I usually get out and play at least 3-4 days a week when it is open and there is still daylight after work. I enjoy playing from the long tees and ripping it. This is a great course to practice distance on and won't punish you as much on errant throws. The long tees and long pin placements will challenge even the Pro players.

Token Creek is a championship caliber disc golf course that is meticulously maintained with great facilities. There is a variety in the holes as far as length and open vs wooded. The course has several par fours with well defined landing zones. While there isn't steep elevation change what is there is well utilized (This course is not completely flat). There is almost always wind on this course and it plays a part in the course design (eg hole 1 headwind) It is well maintained with widely mowed fairways and several holes with terraced pins.

There are garbage cans at every hole and the longer holes have benches. There is a bathroom and water stop after hole 5. There is even hiking and camping in the park if you feel like making a weekend out of it. The course is very playable with tee signs on every hole and obvious paths to the next hole. The fairways are pretty wide and it is easy to follow your disc around blind corners so you can find your disc.

The design on this course is fantastic. The pin placements are synchronized in three different levels of difficulty. All three distances are listed on the sign. You can tell on the second hole which level you are playing by the length. The am tees are pretty straightforward and are beginner friendly despite the course length due to the open layout and generous course par. The pro tees always increase the difficulty with more than length. They will force you to lay up to a newly apparent landing area or give you less room on one side to make your shot.

Risk reward on every hole of this course really sets it apart. There is an emphasis on shot selection in addition to execution. Most courses you take the one route they give you and try to make the only shot there or they are pretty open and you can throw whatever you want to get there. This course offers multiple ways of getting to the basket (including gaps vs. high hyzer, lay up to landing area vs going for and trying to miss a deep obstacle, or trying to decide where to land to minimize trouble) and you have to decide how best to get there. This course will punish you for making a bad decision just as much as missing a shot.

The biggest complaint is the 5 dollar per day price tag, but it is well worth it. The fee get every other day trash/litter pick up, weekly mowings, and park managed tee pad and path upkeep (no volunteering necessary). Another thing this offers is a chance to grow the sport. Dane county is very interested in putting in more courses because of the success of this one.
There is some traffic noise on hole 3 from the highway. There are skeeters and ticks here and wild parsnip in the summer. There isn't a lot in the way of vistas but the course has great presentation and there is all kinds of wildlife to be seen. This course can be frustrating if you don't have a lot of shots and you force the one you have instead of laying up.

I think this is arguably the best course in Wisconsin. This course offers a wide variety of challenging shots. It looks great and is very fun to play.I think that this course is well worth coming to Madison for. If you do come to play it try playing both sets of tee pads. The longs offer a much different look at this fantastic course.

Beautiful championship course. Challenging holes for pros and amateurs, but fun and encouraging enough to keep you coming back. The course is very well manicured and the permanent tee signs are a nice touch.

I wish it was more like $3/day to play or the season pass was a little cheaper for those that play often, but it's still worth the cost.

I love this course and it's much nicer than waiting in line all day to play the other busy Madison courses.

By far one of the best courses in Wisconsin. Mostly open holes but uses trees and bushes next to fairways extremely well to shield the baskets from the tees. Multiple tees and basket placements, which change frequently so every time you play is a slightly new experience.

The course isn't really near anything else of interest but is a short drive from Madison.

Definitely worth the $5 fee, and the drive from where ever you may be.
