It was probably OK, the day it was put in 2+ years

Pros:

Good DisCatchers and great tee signs, someone was serious about putting a course in this small multi-use park.
The concrete tee pads were not too bad, kind of short, but since they were flush to the ground, it is easy to make whatever run up you need.
Variety of holes, not just a pitch-n-putt as you might expect on this type of course.
Separated from other uses in the park, except a walking "path". I say that in quotes because the walking path wasn't paved, but a cleared, mowed grass path.

Cons:

The fairways - most of the fairways were cut through thick brush and shule, then mulched. The problem is, most aren't very wide (10-15') and the weeds are taking over the mulch.
The rough - thick and tough, in many places growing so high, you can't watch your drive. Then you could be spending a long time looking for a shot just off the fairway.
#1 has you lined up to go through a group of trees, with no clear fairway. The alternative? right down the entrance drive to hyzer around the trees. Then, there's a hidden ditch right before the basket.
#2 has the same patch of trees to go through, but a little better chance of finding a line.
The pars - most of these are good as Par 3s, just keep it between the weeds. But #8 and #9 are both over 450' ... and Par 3s. I guess somebody told the "designers" there are only Par 3s in Disc Golf.

Other Thoughts:

This is a nice little park, in a rural area of Brunswick County that is known for its beaches and not its DG courses. The other facilities, ballfields, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds are all very nice, BUT someone still takes care of them. On this course, they spent the money putting it in, then haven't done much since, except mowing the area that should be the fairways.
The walking path that winds through the course has nice short grass, and generally stays on the high ground above several drainage ditches. Since most of the fairways were overgrown, and the rough was, ROUGH, I altered a few holes to use the mowed areas as the fairway. I had a couple of throws end up in the rough, but I could see where they went in, I had a couple end up in the ditch, but I could find them. (But watch for the ditch on #4, stagnant water.) These seemed like a much better, and efficient, way to play this course. Maybe that walking path gets used a lot during busy times, but its something to consider.
I didn't play all of the holes here, or I played short, keep it in sight throws. #9 finally gave you a chance to air it out as you leave the shule jungle and head to the short grass for the final hole.
The first reviewer of this course was hoping they would add 9 more holes around the ballfields, not a bad idea, but they should remove about half the current holes, and move those to the more open, ballfield area. That would make this course a lot more playable.
This course is about halfway between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. I've been wondering for a few years if I would ever have time to drive out to bag this one. Now that I've played most of MB (Splinter was just going in when I was there) I decided to make the 40 min. drive out to this one. Baggers gonna bag.
