Pros:

Beginner to lower intermediate level course set on the property of a church in a small town just outside of Indianapolis.

Baskets - 9 Very grippy mach 3 baskets. They caught great. Had the par of the hole written on the basket for those keeping score.

Tees - Tees are a combination of woodchips and mulch. Did not have any issues with the mulch sliding around. Might be an issue after it rains. Only one tee per hole.

Signs - Sign next to road has arrow pointing you towards the parking lot for the "frisbee golf" course. It is easier to park in the northern parking lot. It is next to tee for 1 and basket for 9. A sign at each tee has the hole number, par, distance, and a map that includes the location of the next tee.

Variety - Course is spread out across rolling hills with distinct fairways surrounded by tall grass. Most holes are straight shots with elevation changes on every hole. Hole 6 has a thread the needle shot over a creek with tees on the end. Hole 7 was on the side of a hill where a missed shot could roll down. Hole 6 and 8 are the only holes with trees as obstacles. Biggest obstacle is the tall grass, elevation, and wind. Hole 4 has a blind basket but it is a long straight uphill shot. Holes are on the short to middle level end in terms of distance 250-400 ft.

Benches and trash cans at tees for hole 1 and 5.

More hills than the typical course in the Indianapolis area.

Extremely easy to navigate. There is a grassy path cut through the tall grass that takes you from basket to tee.

Scenic course with woods surrounding holes 6-9 and with farmland on either end.

Very clean property.

Room to expand to 12 holes.

Food or drink options nearby.

Cons:

No trees. With the elevation at this course, trees would add much more variety and would add to the difficulty. Would take the course up a notch.

One tee per hole. Most holes have room to add an alternate tee. Some holes could use a longer tee, some with a shorter. The elevation and different lines would help the holes. Adding another mulched or woodchip tee per hole would not be too costly.

Can be windy. Keep eye on discs especially with the tall grass.

No shade. Would be hot during the summer. Bring fluids.

Course could use a practice basket and bulletin board/kiosk at the start of the course.

Other Thoughts:

This was a relaxing play. The grass was cut when I played but could be intimidating when long, especially if it was windy. Added trees would be a game changer. If trees and an added tee per hole were added, this course would be a 2.5 or even a 3 out of 5 if enough trees were added.

I would recommend this course to those learning how to play the sport or those in the area. It is a nice compliment to Avon or the Masters if trying to make a loop.

Pros:

This course is very open and should provide sufficient challenge and enjoyment for someone new to the sport. The baskets are new and in very good condition and seemed to catch the discs well. Given the course has some good length to try to throw some bombs, the signage was good, and the baskets were in great condition, but is only 9 holes, it's hard to give it a rating less than 2.0 or Reasonable.
The terrain is gently rolling which makes for some slight downhill and uphill shots. Fairways are pretty clear as long grass borders them which looks like it could easily eat discs in the spring and summer months. Holes 6 and 8 were my favorites simply because they were the least mundane. Hole 6 is short (<300 ft) but challenging as it's a downhiller with the basket on the other side of a small wooded ditch. You could play it aggressive and go straight at the basket, but risk a tricky putt if the trees stop the disc. I chose to play it safe and try to hook it around the left side. Hole 8 is straight, but longer (>350 ft) with the basket bordering the woods.
Regarding the essentials of a good course, this course has clearly marked tee signs and navigation was pretty easy and there were arrows on the baskets pointing to the next tee. The tee signs seemed accurate with regards to distance, and the par listed seemed fair for a beginner like myself, though I easily shot several under par.
The course resides just behind West Bridge Church (Formerly First Baptist Church of Danville) and the first tee was easy to find in the back of the north parking lot. Signs at the church entrance clearly point to the disc golf course. The church is usually open throughout the week so restrooms are available if needed.
A couple benches were available for a quick rest if needed, but there really isn't a lot of strenuous walking at this course.
Finally, the large decorative rocks at each tee were a nice touch with some thoughtful selected verses from the bible. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to get some physical activity while have time for spiritual reflection, this is the place to be.

Cons:

From a design standpoint, overall the course design is pretty bland and the tees could be a tripping hazard given they are all mulch. Also, while the long grass should provide plenty of challenge to stay in the fairways, I could see how some folks might avoid this course just to avoid spending more time looking for discs than actually playing. The course doesn't get a lot of play, but if it did, holes 7, 8 and 9 are so close to each other, you'll really have to keep your eye out for errant discs.

Other Thoughts:

Like I mentioned above, the only interesting holes were 6 and 8. It's not a great piece of property for a spectacular disc golf course, but I did find myself looking around and finding more interesting places to put baskets, but I doubt it would boost the rating more than a half point or so. The church property the disc golf course is located on borders some woods in the southwest corner which are quite big. There could be some great potential for a 3.5-4 Star disc golf course if the church and property owner could agree to put most of the holes for a full 18 back there.
