Simple 9-hole course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 18, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Very we'll maintained course. Baskets are all real nice with the added purple tops for the ACU colors. A couple different elevated throws. #1 and #7 throw from way up high down low. #6 incorporates a big boulder for the basket. They did a great job with the land space and obstacles. It's isn't too simple you won't have fun if your more a pro. Ace runs on #7 and #8. Plus a monster hole #5, 600+ ft! Great practice course to get better with some challenges.

Cons:

It's hard to give cons about this course. It's a 9-hole course that's done a great job with the land and space it has. But I will say some holes seem repetitive. Only 1 man do that really is your only challenge of the course. Could have incorporated more mandos or some sort of obstacles like the boulder. Wish it could be 18.

Other Thoughts:

Overall very nice course kept clean and maintained. It's is way on the northeast side of town so can be a bi of a drive. It is for sure a course I will continue to play once or twice a week. Makes for great practice and a chance to try out new disc as we'll. If your near the area or haven't been I would strongly recommend going.

ACU home course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 28, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is my home course 8 months out of the year because I go to ACU who built the course. The course is a great mix of long and short holes. there is a few obstacles but nothing that can be easily avoided even by beginners. Generally not too crowded

Cons:

Since it's on ACU property the Golf classes practice on holes 6 and 7 (it used to be a 3 hole golf course for the school team you can see the greens)

Best way to spend an hour 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 6, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great shots from several elevations! Even some putts that are 7 feet in the air! There are numerous tree and tunnel shots with some great holes ready to get you your first ace. Really nice layout with lots of room to eventually expand. Its in kind of a bowl so wind on really effects the course from one direction. This is a big deal in Abilene where the wind is bad just about every time you want to play.

Cons:

Its short... If there was one thing i would add or change would be a concession stand at hole one to serve you cold beverages and little chocolate treats.
