Meh 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Short. Flat.

Cons:

Tees are in horrible condition. Holes are surrounded by concrete and gravel. Fairly easy to lose a disc in the brush.

Other Thoughts:

An odd course to play. The holes are all fairly short and there aren't any hills so you would think its a decent course for new players, but the trees and brush make it easy to lose/damage a disc.
My main gripe is the concrete around the targets. If you don't sink your put you are going to scuff up your disc.
I do not recommend playing this course with your good discs.

Mostly Harmless 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 21, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Reasonably tight fairways. Doglegs. Obstacles. Logical layout (Tees right next to pins). Nice quiet area.

Cons:

Short. Did I say, "Short?" I meant minirature. You only need a midrange and a putter, or just a putter. The pars for each hole are ridiculous. I think they just picked numbers out of a hat.

Other Thoughts:

Good for kids or if you have kids. Otherwise don't waste your time.

Short and Sweet 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 28, 2005 Played the course:once

Pros:

Fun course, good layout. Great for beginners or families. Good chance to get an ace. Also, good if you want to squeeze in a quick round.

Cons:

Very crowded due to popularity. Most holes are too easy for any experienced disc golfer.

Other Thoughts:

Good course for practicing mid-range and putter shots. Experienced players will shoot in the 40's. Newer players should be able to have a decent round, too.

It is what it is- Introduce your kids or new people to the wonderful game of Disc Golf. A shorter course is still better than no course!!!

Extremely Short and Tight 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 28, 2006 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course is located in a nice, secluded area. There is traffic outside the park, but the park itself is rather quiet. The fairways are mature. A round can be played here very quickly. Tee pads and baskets were in fair condition.

Cons:

This course is just too short to be considered a challenge. Sometimes there are short courses that offer some technical shots and cause you to shape your shots. I didn't even get that from this course. As has been stated by others, this is "ace run heaven". You could honestly play this course with only a Roc/Buzz/Kite/Impact/(midrange of your choice) and shoot well below 50....quite possibly below 40.

Other Thoughts:

It is what it is. An older, shorter course. When whamos were the disc, this would have been a great place to play. However, this course is unable to adapt with the times as there is not a lot of real estate to work with. You should not even have to pull out a fairway driver on this course. Mids all the way. It is not a challenge. But if you just want a quick 45 minute round and you are nearby, give it a shot. You might end up with an ace...or two or three.

Pros:

-Easy to get to
-Close to restaurants and shopping
-Front 9 and Back 9 have close starting locations
-Easy navigation and flow
-Teepads are asphalt
-Designed in the woods so lots of shade
-Restrooms at start of both front 9 and back 9
-Located in Winton Woods so lots a various activities

Cons:

-LOTS of player traffic, especially on weekends and during the summer
-Baskets are placed in a 10ft ring of asphalt, so it beats discs extremely quick
-18 out of 18 holes are under 300ft
-12 out of 18 holes are under 200ft
-#11 is a 90ft hole
-Not too many obstacles (since the clearing)
-Most holes can be deuced fairly easily
-Doesn't test many shots or discs
-Most holes have limited or no trees from the teepad to the basket

Other Thoughts:

Final Verdict:
Overall this course is not challenging, unless you're a beginner or teaching a beginner. Course is pretty open on most holes. Can easily be played in 30-40 minutes. If you're in the area, it's a good, quick game. More experienced players should avoid this course. This is where a beginner should go to learn the game.
