This course has all the makings of a well-designed, quality disc golf course. Great quality Chainstar baskets/targets, nice concrete tee-pads, great tee signs complete with full course pictures/graphics and distances, a practice basket, a bulletin board, ample parking, 2 port-a-potty's and a mailbox next to hole one for housing scorecards. A few months ago there was a major problem with the drainage and runoff in the areas of hole 3 through 6, as well as a few others, but ditches were dug out to accommodate the fairways standing water problem after heavy rains somewhat recently, and its made all the difference. C.R. really outdid himself with all the trimmings and a great layout that loops to the parking lot at multiple points during play. Great job! There have been a few "upgrades" to the course over the years, with added drainage ditches that GREATLY help with the standing water issues on this course, but there are still a few trouble areas on holes 3, 5, and 13 after steady rainfall.

The front nine has a few holes that are a little redundant, holes 3, 5, 9 are rather similar in design, though the wind currents are reversed and the pin placement in proximity to foliage makes up for it. Having a large tournament could be trouble with the way the tee-pads are positioned on the back nine, but the course plays very fast so wait times should be limited. Holes 2 and 7 play over the small lake and are prone to lost discs for RHBH throwers. The wind isn't usually a huge factor but definitely plays into shots over the lake. I suggest bringing some floating discs with you for this course. I reached the other side of hole 7 with an Innova Dragon that slid/bounced back down the decline into the water and was able to pluck it out with just wet fingertips. The squids are in the water frequently and often. A few times a week you can find 3-4 guys in the water wading in the "6 feet or less" depths, and 2-3+ times a month there is a guy with a crazy "Lake disc rake" made from perfectly spaced metal prongs through PVC connected to a very long rope to snatch discs from the deeper bottoms of the lake. There is a somewhat heated debate over the ethics of disc retrieval amongst the locals, but I've been playing this course fairly often since its inception and I've NEVER gotten a phone call to return my discs (even with "reward if found" on my discs in Sharpie). So I recommend just buying a floating Driver (or floating midrange if you have a big enough arm) and not worrying about it. my friends and I have probably throw about $300+ worth of plastic into the lake over the years, a $10-$20 floating disc solves this issue completely. Innova Wahoo or Dragon work well since they float and are come in weights that still float over 140g, unlike Blizzard Champions (Blizzard Champions only float at weights 140g and under!!!) and the added weight really makes a BIG difference over the lake when the breeze is strong.

***Please note that I've been playing this course since it's inception and I've NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVERRRRRRR seen ANY Alligators OR Snakes on this course. The sign inside the Players bulletin board is VERY old and faded and I'm actually not sure if that picture is even the same lake in the first place. I think they just want to keep people out of the lake for liability reasons (but there are a LOT of squids that scour this lake along hole 7 and hole 2 almost daily).

I hit my first "Florida Ace" on Hole #5 with a sidearm Champion Valkyrie strike in 2010 during a friendly doubles round with the local guys and some friends. I hit my first lefty Ace on hole 13 in July 2017 with a 171 Champion Tern, and a Boss Skip Ace on Hole 3 Sidearm. LOTS of Aces to be had on this course.

I really like the way 14-16 of the pins line up with the edges of the tee pads. There are 4 holes with alternate pin placements and hole 2 has 2 different tees. Most of the people I have met that play at this course have been very friendly, laid back, and rather talented disc golfers.

Don't expect to get your discs back out of the water though... Definitely a good idea to invest in a driver that flies about 300 ft and floats (Dragon, Wahoo, Blizzard Champions under 140 grams, etc).

This course has the potential to make even a first timer look good and has been a huge confidence booster for those that are just starting out, or coming back to the sport after a hiatus.
