Pros:
This little 9 hole course plays around the baseball and soccer fields at Zeeland Christian School. The course designer did what he could with the space available. Unfortunately, the soccer and baseball fields take up most of the room here leaving the disc golf course with the scraps or this case, basically the perimeter of the school grounds. Despite what each of the previous reviewers has mentioned, you sometimes can play this course when there are activities going on. Today, there were about 30-35 soccer players having a practice. I was able to play without getting in their way.
There are no tees only kckboards, some of which have the hole # and distance routered into the board. Later holes didn't have this feature. The kickboards were a little tough to locate. The baskets are Disc Nation. They're fine for this course.
I liked # 2, the short downhill Ace Run of 165'. Everyone is correct when they write this hole would not be playable during baseball games. The next tee arrow painted on the concrete here was very helpful. # 3 had both A and B tees painted on the sidewalk. As # 3 is a tight window with woods on the right and baseball fence on the left, I personally would have shortened this hole considerable to take the woods out of play.
I did not like hole 5. It's a 218' hyser throw that mirrors the outfield fence but it's too tight for kids. Aldo, there is danger on the right side with thick rough with a creek in there. Also, # 9 was a pretty sad design. It plays along the top of the ridge 188' to a basket tucked around the small building there. Every student will hyser down the hill. I tried a tricky roller shot trying to avoid thumping anyone. It didn't work well.
Cons:
Yes, there are a few. The course has lots of safety problems. Basically every hole could be hazardous to someone when there are activities going on.
I think there are some pretty tight looks for an elementary/middle school course.
Very little challenge for anyone past beginner level.
Places to lose your discs.
Other Thoughts:
# 2 was a fun throw. I didn't much care for the other 8 holes. They were either standard issue or too tight or had borderline safety issues. This is a course that could always be closed or have 2-3-4 holes shut down. You wouldn't want to drive too far to play here, unless of course you are a career course bagger and then you plan accordingly and you somehow get your 9 holes in.
