For instance, i picked up a used 150 champ leopard because i used to have a dx one that was great, was pissed at first bc it was just nasty understable. Then I started throwing approach anny's with it....to magical perfection. This disc will just glide so sweetly and gives me so much better control than trying to hyzer a forehand down and around. Went from hating it to loving it. hope i never lose it, its gotten me out of some tough sitches.

I've only been playing for a year and this disc is what really got me to develop a good mid range anny shot. which is now one of my favorite.

beat to hell champ beast that i got for like 3 bucks. best medium range (200-300 ft) tomahawk disc for me. its so precise, and i can get it to go pretty straight, take a sharp left turn, skip, spike. its really great for getting me out of trouble, and i also really like it for certain uphill holes.

for instance i use it at a local course with has a 250 foot hole with the basket at the top of a decently steep hill. i throw it over the trees, it flips and spikes down. definitely saves me a stroke often.

another weird thing for me was the Katana. I heard you can just get crazy almost unfair distance with em. right (sarcastic). I can throw most of my other drivers farther. maybe i just don't have the arm strength or something, but i get better distance with my wraith, vulcan, and nuke. Katana is really overstable for me and oddly enough i actually use it to great success with 200-250 ft dogleg lefts. Honestly, i cant even throw this disc to the right even when i try hard.

when I first started I only had a roc and an aero putter. a friend gave me a crush and it became my favorite forehand disc. I still use the same one today.

When I first tried Wizards the only thing I liked them for at all was putting, even then I still stuck with my Rhynos. Would of laughed in your face if you told me two years later I'd be able to throw that same Wizard I hated so much dead straight & further than I could toss a driver back then.

so you can honestly throw a wizard more than 300ft? I absolutely cannot. in general, i don't like driving with putters. but i've seen people have some great midrange throws with the wizard. just not my thing. if its mid range im grabbin my buzzz no hesitation.

Yup. I hated driving with putters at first too, they felt really weird in my hands. Got used to it eventually though.

I would say my most 'throw/line specific' disc is the Firebird - which serves as my 'thumber' driver. Extremely predictable 250-300ft thumbers that end up landing perfectly straight from where they are thrown. This was my longest 'shot' in my first few months of playing, but I can now backhand further - but not with the same accuracy a good overstable OH can provide. I use a 12x Champ FB and enjoy watching how the OH's wear the plastic down (even strong plastic like Champion).

My Wizard seems to have almost no fade unless forced a bit hyzer - it's an excellent mid-range for me and is actually replacing my Mako in my bag. I love the accuracy of putters.

I got an esp predator and at first it was a meathook for me (rhbh). So i decided to break it in a little with my forehand and it has become a great control hyzer driver and a dead straight forehand driver. Love it.

Found a sweet CE Firebird at the course, no name no number, noone on the course. It was suprisingly good at selling itself on Ebay :hfive:

Try another Katana, the 171+ tend to be meathooks. Under that has been golden for me.

I have a katana for the same thing, works like a charm on a few holes I play

one of my first discs was a 171 DX leopard... I liked it and then tossed it aside after about 4 months looking for the "bigger drivers".... fast froward a year or two and now that i understand what i am doing this disc has been my go to disc when i need to hyzer flip something and keep it going right (RHBH)...this disc is so money i hope i never lose it.

Traded with a friend for a BEAT UP MS Aurora...it has been a round saver for me...instead of +25, I can get good midrange shots and go +10. I know I suck, but I suck LESS with this helpful disc.
