Drivers jumping mid flight

Lately I have been trying out playing with some high speed drivers on a regular basis. When I backhand at around 90% I seem to get air bounces on my drives. Let me explain, when I backhand on a flat line, the disc will quickly jump up or down 5-15 feet, and sometimes it will do multiple jumps in one flight. Today when it happened there was quite a bit of wind so I don't know if that effects it or not.

My question is this, would these jumps in any way indicate bad form or a need to throw slower discs? Or is this normal and just coincidental?
(if it is neither of these please feel free to explain)

Yes it is the wind. Thats coming from the windy city where we know wind. :D

Well...I'm sure that the wind is playing a factor, but I've seen a guy who has an air bounce on all of his drives...I'm not sure if it's a form thing or not...but don't be so quick to say it's only the wind...

Sounds like a personal problem.
Being in Kansas, I see this every day. It's run me into a few low branches and saved me some strokes, just play to the wind and be aware that happens often and adjust appropriately.

Don't quote me on this, BUT:

although windy conditions can make "air-bounces" more noticeable, I believe the root of the problem is actually imperceptible amounts of OAT (off-axis torque) caused by bad form.

Anybody more technique savvy able to back me up on this?

if its your form it's from reaching back to high then trying to force the disc down as you pull through but naturally pulling back up as you release... kinda like a bowl shape motion. i used to do that with my mids and i would get those air bounces, sometimes i still play around with them in my yard. it can be useful if you can control it.

or it could be wind.

There's a low and pro line you can throw that gets an initial bounce out, but any bounces after that are wind.

Im thinking wind but my first thought was potentially throwing nose up and throwing from high to low. Elevator type shot.

It's hard to tell without video if its form or not. And even then its personal opinion. Happens a lot around here, especially in the winter,so I don't really worry about it. It's kinda like when an airplane hits turbulence. Just different winds and air density.

If its nose up, it more than likely would just keep rising, stall (hang mid air) and fall off hard left (RHBH. Right if you are a lefty)

Not saying it isn't nose angle. Depending on the direction of the wind, it could be both really.

other than the initial rise at the start of the throw, there are no physics in the spin, velocity, or shape of the disc that would cause bounce. Only wind gusts. I've successfully brought this thread to a satisfactory conclusion.

I see it alot with myself and others I throw with. I think it's this air density #1 and then wind.
