I am looking for any help that I can get with my putting. It has been down right awful. I am talking missing at least half, if not more of my putts from 10ft. It has gotten so bad that I'm no confident unless its within like 4ft of the basket. Any advice that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I know this has probably been a topic many times, but I am hoping I can get some advice that just strikes a cord with me and can really help to improve my game.

Set your feet, pick a link, warm up, then close your eyes and throw. I bet you make that putt, fact is you can make your putts from ten without thinking about it. So take your mind out of it and just trust your muscle memory. Took me forever to realize that, hope that helps.

*in 911 operator voice* OK sir, calm down sir, now tell me what does your putting look like? What are you using? Do you spin or pitch putt?

Help us out man, you could have awful form or an awful disc or both.

Alright, I see you have a 171 rhyno in the bag. Toss it (away). Get an Aviar, Warlock, Wizard, Magnet, etc. Somewhere around the upper 170s. That'll eliminate some wind variables.

I started straddle putting and immediately improved...might not be for you but trying something else might just be the ticket.

+1

i used to suck at straddle putting but i knew i would have to learn it bc i had way too many shots that would have been easily made if i would have known how to do tihs....now-a-days when warming up ill practice both ways and whatever i feel more confident in that day is the way i will putt for that round...and if im still missing putts ill switch to the other...i really believe its all in my head, but the change in stance gives my mind confidence that if i cant make it one way i can still make it the other way....and to top it all off, both stances start to improve greatly

good luck

-walk up
-visualize the line
-remind yourself that you are badass
-smooth weight transfer>release point
-shake your own hand as you walk to your bag, because you pwn souls and you don't have to watch the disc, because you know it is going in
-look at the other people in your group and say "lick my balls and suck on my ass"
-don't litter

Get yourself a large trash can with at least a 24 inch opening in the top. Practice pitching your putts into the can. At least 200 times. Then refer to the PICK A LINK that Spring wrote.
Concentrate only on that one ring. I usually pick one slightly above the center (up and down) and slightly to the right (left and right). Muscle memory

Great advice but I have a hard time believing that people want to play on your card.:D

"shake the hand" was the best putting advice I've ever received. When you throw make sure to shake the hand with the pole of the basket. This will keep you on line.

next piece of advice would be to get a backyard basket and putt 30 minutes a day until you are hitting everything inside of 30'.

good luck

what im thinking is your mine i f---ing own you, but what im not doing is feeling ..... i cant remember the rest as its been at least 2 days since that movies come on , my advise go rent get shorty then start putting as hard as you can and still keep it in you gotta putt like you dont give a shi8 that its going go 20+ feet past if you miss because in all probability it will if you do but you gotta not worry about that because your gonna make it and if you miss your gonna make that one too because ur a baddass putting machine sent here from the future to terminate chains .

Was looking into getting a heavier rhyno, but I have tried avairs, challengers, and magnets, and nothing is better in the wind than the rhyno. i really think that it is more of a form issue, a while back i was throwing anhyzer putts and was very accurate, but a lot of the discs would bounce off the chains. I wanted to get a putt that would really smack the chains and stick so I started putting on a more direct line, was a lot less accurate, but the ones that would hit would stick. In trying to putt on more of a direct line i tried a few different forms or styles. straddle approach putting, staggered stance, line my shoulder up with the pole, and this only seems to make it worse. Then on top of that I tried going back to the anhyzer approach, and now thats worse than ever. I just seem to be lost in the many styles and forms.

It's all finesse, I personally use a SS Warlock and hyzer putt a bit pitch putt style. I'm not the best putter but I'm deadly with in 10 feet.;) I suggest getting a Gateway putter and then just develop a comfortable, smooth "free throw" routine. Putt the same way every time, treat every putt like your on the course trying to save par, even the practice putts.

Good luck.

I can't believe no one has said this yet:

Perfect Putt 360

I've heard this is an excellent game to improve your putting.

Also, when I used to struggle with putting i used this method: Imagine the flight path your putter usually takes. Now picture your putter taking that path into the basket for the put you are currently taking. Now look on the ground for some sort of "marker" (such as a flower or stick) that is directly below the flight pattern your disc must take. I usually try to pick a "marker" that is half way between the basket and me. Instead of trying to aim only at the basket, try aiming at the basket and making sure your disc goes over your "marker". Make sure you are not changing your form to accomplish this.

Also, if you "spin" your disc a lot when you throw (i.e. you flick your wrist hard), try "pushing" your disc more. Focus more on your arm extension and a consistent release point.

I just heard of the push putt technique and tried it out a few times. It really wasn't pretty. The discs just comes out really shaky and seems like to goes about as far to the left as it gets in distance.

Remember, it isn't a complete push. You need to find a good balance between the "push" and the "spin". Try throwing it similarly to what you are used to, but use a little less wrist snap.

Yeah I can't straddle putt past 30'...so I hyzer putt...I have made some crazy shots but it aint easy.
