How do you keep score?

In casual rounds, I always keep my score in my head. I have this nifty reusable score card that I use sometimes though.

Madman, you also just created a thread asking how to start a league.

If you are serious about running a league, you will have to use scorecards.

The sound of using pencil and paper may sound antiquated, but its the only way.

Practice good habits now to prepare yourself and others for bigger events.

i know i'm going to have to use a paper scorecard for the league, I have the scorecards already made on my computer, just gotta print 'em off and i'm all set.

Birdie beads here also, it doesn't get easier, and I had a sweet custom set made by Djren12 here on the forum, They rock, and have skulls and black beads for boogies.

I pick up some score cards at GGGT and then use my Blue Ribbons Pines pencil. My bag has a slot for scorecards and 2 pencils too.

I use the DGCaddy app, and it is absolutely awesome, has putts per hole counter, avgs your total and putts for each hole and course, allows you to enter what disc you use on each hole, enter par and distance for upto 4 tees on each hole. In short, it's awesome

Pen and paper.

I use easy scorecard, but on courses I'm familiar with, I can usually replay the whole round in my head. I'll still use the app to keep score, but sometimes I don't even look back at it, I can remember what I shot on each hole.

I keep score in my head if its one of my home courses. If its an unfamiliar course, I use a reusable scorecard.

In my head. always know where im at. sometimes good sometimes bad. and if your on my card, I probably know where your at too.

I don't unless its a tournament. Even though I couldn't tell you what I was at I just write down numbers while it is my turn to have the card and then pass it when my turn is done.

I've used a phone app or two before, but it was getting to be a pain to use. Pull out the phone, unlock it (work phone, automatically locks), enter the score, stash and repeat.

I got a cheap watch I picked up at Big Lots a while back that allows you to enter golf scores. It'll hold 3 18 hole rounds, and you can set up what par for each hole is. It's easy to use, close at hand, and cheap.

Afterwards I enter the scores manually over here.

I started out keeping score in my head, then moved to paper and pencil, finally i'm where i'm at now. On the android market (i guess it's "google play" now) there is an app called "Easy Score". It works very well on my phone, and has great features. I can program different courses with par, distance, different tees, etc. How do you keep score? what's the most unique thing you've ever seen? What do you use?

The Easy Score app is free and allows me to post scorecards to facebook, great for letting friends see my scores as well as theirs when they play with me! It even keeps stats and averages and everything! I LOVE IT! Haven't found anything quite like this for all you iPhone users out there.

Need to find that app because the one I have is pretty lousy.

I keep track of the whole group's score in my head. I HATE carrying a scorecard myself (but will if it's a new course) and my friends all trust me to keep it accurate. It also helps me to remember to confirm everyone's score after the last player holes out and announce everyone's current total. That also gives folks a chance to correct me, after that, your score is your score.

Paper & pencil.

I've scored just about every singles round I've ever played, and have definite criteria when it comes to selecting spiral-bound scorebooks. They gotta have just the right coil diameter to hold a pencil and they gotta have at least 19 lines per page - 18 for the hole scores and one for the total.

... although depending on the round, I sometimes "neglect" to add up the damages :D

The Easy Scorecard app might be the only reason I don't switch from an android phone when it's time for my upgrade. That app is amazing. Makes keeping score so simple.
