I sit and wonder the direction disc golf is heading, evolution wise.

From random objects as baskets, to the ones of today

from lids to specific circumstantial discs

Nap sacs to hundred dollar back packs.

while i consider blizzard/ air technology to the new big evolution, what could possibly be the next 'big thing' for the world of disc golf?

"Made in China" being stamped on the back of all discs.
What is a circumstantial disc? a disc that does not fully prove it is a disc?

There may not be a "next big thing." Equipment is pretty tightly regulated by the PDGA, so there's not a lot of room for major paradigm shifts. Instead, we'll continue to see slow evolution of new ideas, some good, some bad (recent examples include MVP's overmolding, Vibram rubber, Discraft Titanium, Air/Blizzard etc).

The real major developments in the sport will come in terms of marketing and creating bigger events with bigger prize pools.

Freestyle golf (think X-Games). Upside-down putting, kung fu-based manuevers, and more magic tricks. Whomever has the coolest run-up wins.

could be say an epic, or the wheel or something perhaps more overstable "utility" discs, or even just turnover discs, rollers discs...

but yes you always seem to be spot on, china will probably be next

Nope that wil not be the next big thing, both would be illegal if created today. the Epic was grandfathered in.

Oh you are explaining circumstantial, every disc is good for a specific situation.

Hopefully more cities, governmental entities and private landowners starting to look at disc golf a sport and start installing more $ to play courses, or better yet complexes.

One can hope major network coverage and big industry sponsors. Looking at you, Red Bull.

Not extreme enough. Until disc golfers start breaking bones in the name of glory Red bull will not come calling. Now Marley's Mellow Mood however....

Blizzard tech is only the next big this as it relates to wide rim high-speed drivers being the latest big thing. Light discs have always been around, blizzard tech lets them make the fast stuff lite in premium plastic.

The next big thing will be an amputee throwing with a robotic arm and destroying all of us like that guy who runs with no legs who beats all the people with legs.
