[Westside] Westside Giant

giants in general are not understable whatsoever.

tp seemed to have more dome and lower PLH than the vip, but i still never managed to buy a giant with any turn out of the box. i was working on a vip for over a year that was finally starting to get some drift to the right, not what i'd call turn by any means though.

everyone else seemed to get lucky w/giants that would turn within a few months. none for me. :(

to be clear, im looking for max d headwind stable drivers.

I had two that i could rip and get a little high speed turn and then they would finish stable every time...this was after a month or two of wear (playing on rocky surface in the desert).

This tp giant im trying to beat in is way more OS. It it is really similar to my apes. I loved the first two giants I had because they acted like a boss that could handle more headwind..

Maybe i'll try a few more vip.

If that's what you're looking for, that's what you'll get. Max d in a headwind or a huge anny flex. I've had giants just as os as a nuke os, but usually they're more like longer cpd.

Of course, when I stop throwing things I stop looking around for trends. Maybe they have another inconsistent run. All the recent giants I've seen had a weird shoulder and a flat top like the elasto. Not interested.

yeah i loved that about the first couple I had. The TP i have now dump hard even at full power...literally zero turn. Anyway...i'll give them a little longer in the bag and see what happens

I have a blue dommy TP giant that seems to be a lot straighter than my other giants. Its a sticker weighted one also. weighs 173 and has the flight of a new world only from using it about a month.

i know johne mccray prefers the blue tp...he says they are a tad more understable in his experience. Who knows if that's true but the one blue one i have does seem to have lower PLH (but it's so hard to tell with these discs)

MMMMM Yummy! Friday 9/25

Nice stamp. Definitely a wall hanger. Yeah the air has been so dead in lower Midwest that haven't had an excuse to get my giants out.

But fall is near and once it starts getting more windy the giants will be back in the bag for those long headwind type shots. Cool disc.

I'm not a Giant thrower as I've always thought that they'd be way too stable for me. Also the Enforcer already fills the very OS DD slot.

However, few days ago I found a 174g VIP Giant without a name and went to a field to test it out. It was quite beat in, but still I was really surprised to see that it was quite close to my TP Sword in stability and that thing is flippy. Thrown flat it would crash and burn, and with a bit of hyzer it would still turn over before coming back.

So my question would be, is this normal for a beat in Giant or did I just find a freak?

I feel like I've had an odd World or Giant that became understable REALLY quick. I have two decodye worlds, one is the most OS world I have and the other turned into a flip machine REALLY fast. It may be the PLH but occasionally you will find discs in the same run that behave more understable

So...What's the word on people's experience of the recycled giants? More OS or US? Beat in fast to distance bombers? How are the flying for everyone?

Threw my new 170g recycled giant today. My worlds may start finding themselves out of the bag. The max distance I throw on the course is 400'. I was throwing this giant just as far as my worlds. I'm sure TP and VIP giants are generally more OS than the recycled from what I hear. The giant was flying the same lines as my fresh 170g TP world. Where the world has more speed, the giant makes up for it in glide. I would say this flies like a 13/5/-.5/3.5 for me. Very controllable and workable. I'll probably now be picking up another recycled, a TP and a VIP to cover all my shots. With how recycled breaks in, this giant will probably be a nice turnover in the next year or so. It already can hold a nice turnover for a good amount of its flight before panning back at the end. Of course I also have to mention that, while the worlds were very comfortable in my hand for a max speed driver, the giant is even more so. That 1 cm makes a big difference.

Where are these Recycled Giants? I looked at 3 online stores and didn't see them.

I got my 2 from dynamicdiscs.com. 167-169g are in not the greatest colors (green and ecru, which ended up being a greenish brownish swirl) and 172-174g are in orange.

Just a little update on the recycled giant. This thing is amazing. After a few rounds of use, I can confidently say that at 400' flight ratings would be a 13/5/-.5/3. They are not only taking over my regular distance shots, but they are also stealing from my max distance shots that I use the world for typically. On the course today, I threw my world on a hyzer flip S shot out to 400', have to use a bit of lateral movement...the giant I threw on a flat pull, giving it a nice tight S, and still going out another 15' past the world. I like being able to get more distance on tighter lines with that extra glide. And of course the fact that they still hold up to wind much better is a plus. Sorry worlds...you may slowly start finding the shelf.

Edit: I'm very curious how the cutlass will compare.

Really have been liking my Recycled Giant. Have been reaching for it a lot over my Trespass so far this summer. Don't think I'm quite ready to drop the Trespass for max d, but who knows in a couple months.

I will be stocking up on Recycled Giants and pairing them with TPs.

Anybody throwing Elasto Giants?

I have really fallen in love with a couple of freak OS VIP Giants(thanks BroD) and the Elasto plastic seems to be slightly more OS in general. Is it beefy or nah?

The only Elasto Giant I have tried was insane OS. So OS for me I can't evaluate it as more or less than other beefcake discs. I know you have a big forehand so you can probably tell more variations in stupid OS stuff. But this was like 13/3/+1/4, like the beefiest Enforcers I have tried or stupid OS Destroyer.
