Dave Feldberg resigns from PDGA Board

Mike- the pro who formed Cottonwoods Riverfront league has taken a job with the PDGA and moved from Az. Apologies, but I can't recall his last name. my memory has fallen and can't get up.

Mike Downes is the new events coordinator. Great guy, great golfer.

Good for Dave. He'll be tossing some sweet plastic!

Maybe the resignation and signing with a different sponsor is just what he needs to clear his head and his schedule, . abling him to get out and play a little more for fun. Anyone who has ever played at a high level in a competitive sport knows how it can be ruined for you whenever too much gets stacked on your plate and getting the time to actually play for shiggles becomes impossible to find. It disatttaches you from why you got involved in the sport in the first place when you can no longer have fun with it.

I'm sure that all you people spitting venomous words have had the pressure if such weighted responsibility..... or most likely not :gross:.

Dave owes not a single thing to anyone or anything other than to get to a point where he can enjoy playing disc golf, and the life aside of it; maybe some people on this board could massively benefit from doing the same.

Best of luck to you, Dave! Enjoy some of that sweet Swedish plastic and clearing your head with the smell of grass and dirt, the sight of blue sky and the perfectly floated turnover, and the sounds of birds, banging trees, and banging chains.

The topic was to thank him for his years of service.

I wonder how many of these posts would be here if Dave Feldberg posted, I believe you would still have posted but a few others would not be insulting him to his face.

I wonder how many of your posts would "be here" if the person you were insulting were in front of your face. (I'm talking this site as a whole, not this thread.)

All of us are little tougher on the interwebz, including you and I.

First of all, all the OP did was quote an article from the PDGA website, who are you to say what the intended tone of the thread was meant to be? Secondly, it makes a ton of sense for a thread about someone's resignation to be full of people reflecting on the person and, in cases like this, speculating on the reasons for it. It's very natural. What isn't natural is for people to get so butt-hurt when people don't agree with their opinion of a man and try so hard to dictate how a thread should go. You see this thread as a chance to point out how great Feldberg is, and that makes sense. Someone else sees it as a spot to point out what they heard about the details of said resignation, also makes sense. Others still see it as a place to point out that they don't like the guy and are glad he's not in a leadership role anymore, again, makes sense. So, in summary, get over yourself and stop expecting everyone to think and behave the same way you do, and getting so upset when they don't.

This is my opinion, as well. There are rumors and speculation, and then there are just so many times these rumors can keep coming up before there has to be some truth, even if it's been exaggerated in the retelling. I don't know anything personally either, so I won't be making any claims or defending any postive/negative stances.

He's obviously a stellar player, and one of the best students of the game we've seen. A genuine a-hole doesn't put the effort into teaching like Feldberg does. If things have been piling up, then maybe he has just decided that a complete reboot is in the best interest of his game and his sanity. Not much of a better way than stepping back and spending more time in Europe where they have a much more "pure" notion of disc golf than us in the states.

Whatever the reasons, I hope it all works out for him. I don't wish poorly on any DGer, no matter how many bridges he may have burned.

All I beg is that he loses the Zach Galifianakis beard. PLEASE! I couldn't ever approach him at a course with that thing. I'd be too worried there are bear traps hidden in some brush around him or something.

I heard that Dave reported a fellow board member but the board covered it up because they're racist. So then the board told Dave he had to resign or they would kick him out cuz he was a tattle tale and that's not how the board rolls. That's why they're spreading rumors about him to discredit him.

So Dave resigned but now he's going to try to clear his name by killing every board member and random disc golfers while a giant manhunt ensuses. Though Dave took the Lat 64 sponsorship and is bouncing to Europe to plot his revenge. YOLO DAVE YOLO

Dave is currently holed up in a cabin chucking Goldline XXXs at law enforcement.

This thread went full frontal flame when all of you felt the need to defend Feldy. You could have dropped it. This is why we can't have nice things. :(

Wherever his career takes him, as long as he keeps his name off the Latitude 64 discs - I'll be happy.

Wow the flamers on this site are just astounding. Dave has done more for this sport than anyone that has posted in this thread collectively. I hope he gets some time to be with lat and help to grow the, to the top manufacturer. I wish Dave all the luck in the world. Thanks for being a great ambassador and good luck in 13. Flamers get a life, get out from behind your keyboard and go throw.

So you're saying there's a chance lol

We all knew this would happen, just from looking at the thread title. It's like a book you've already read.

Dave is doing well in Vegas right now. I guess it didn't take long for him to learn his new plastic and clear his head of all the politicing that has been frustrating him.
