[Vibram] Vibram Disc Golf Thread (Part II)

I lost my Ascent a couple weeks back. :\

I must have just walked off and left it on a hole towards the end of the course. No one has attempted to return it.

Oh well, I couldn't have missed it that much, seeing has how it took me two weeks to notice it missing. I've just been looking in my bag occasionally and thinking, "hmm... I feel like there's something missing."

It didn't really have a place in the bag anyway, what with multiple Teebirds and a Saint Pro. Too much redundancy even now. Still, I wish it had it for shots over water and whatnot.

I finally got some production run F and M O-Laces...Holy cow, these are overstable and awesome! My original ones I got weren't super beefy like this. I'm glad this is how the normal production run turned out (I've been throwing the Glow version, which was really overstable as well).

That's good to know! My o-Lace flies great! I can throw it fore-hand/back-hand, which is unusual for me to be able to throw an overstable back-hand as well as forehand. One of my friends is also very happy with his o-Lace. He has two. He kicks my butt, but I love him anyways.

Anybody play a Birdie Bash yet? Are the disc colors as awesome as last years or are there a lot of "white" colored discs arriving? Post a picture of your players pack if you can!

i am running a bb in may and just got the sample pack you can order. only one white the rest are nicely colored with a couple that are very sweet.

The only white discs I got was an a Sole in the TD pack. Other than that a lot of colors with a very pretty blue, red, white and green sole that i got in my players pack.

Oh no. Vibram isn't going to start pumping out a new mold or existing mold in a new material on the 1st of every month as is now seems everyone else is doing? There have been something like 60-65 disc releases in 2014 Steve. Thank you for not feeling like you need to contribute to the general "noise".

Personally, I would love to see some 2cm rim (Speed 10?) drivers.

I think that if Vibram came out with a really over stable speed 6or 7 disc in the banshee trident range for over hands and big wind, a speed 10 stable driver and a flippy speed 8 or 9 disc similar to a road runner they would have a really complete line up.

Does anyone have any experience throwing 160's vs. 170's weight olace. Do they fly the same or is the lighter weights less stable and heavier weights more stable or are they pretty consistent across those weight differences. Thanks in advance for any info.

Flight plate or rim?

You could try either the microwave 45-60 seconds IIRC. Or hot water and a large plate. Summertime, just leave it on a flat surface when it's hot.

Be super careful with the microwave. Start with 15-20 seconds and do it twice at that time if you need. I was told to do 30-60 seconds and just about killed my lace and trak. The Trak got burned at 45 seconds and I had to do serious recovery work with a pot of hot water and weight and then the freezer to get it back to shape. Kinda bummed cause I was told this by 'the top guy' at vibram, but it is kinda amazing that after all that they are still usable. Try that with another disc and it would be gone forever. Sucks to have a burn spot on my beautiful Trak but live and learn I guess. Microwave works but use caution!!! Better to rinse and repeat than drown.

I'm glad Vibram takes their time too. Unlike innova who came out with the foxbat and atlas which are basically the same. I feel like innova creates a disc then modifies it a bit; which creates two disc that they can put on the market.

I was just curios about the vibram proto. There's nothing like a new vibram, especially a vibram that's not even in production yet. I just can't wait to open the package! I know I'm like a child on Christmas, but oh we'll, I enjoy my Vibrams

With regards to the microwave, I'm assuming it also depends on the wattage. I ran my Lace through for 45 seconds, then again for another 30 seconds. Returned a huge amount of stability to it. My compact work microwave is only 700 watts though.

For me the Ascent is very Banshee like.

I just don't understand why Vibram has to colour their discs so randomly.. I personally can't stand that. Some of their putters apparently are single-coloured and look cool but 2, 3 or 4 randomly placed colours with weird shapes look horrible to me. That kinda prevents me to try Vibram even though I would like to.

Get on community discs. They have a picture of every disc that way you can pick out the specific one that you like. There are quite a few solid ish colors out there. My personal favorite are the swirly ones.
